Jennie + Zach’s intimate bohemian backyard wedding could easily be mistaken for a stunning styled shoot, but it’s actually one of the most authentic weddings we’ve seen. With Jennie’s dad being diagnosed with a rare stage IV cancer, she + Zach decided quickly to move the ceremony date up so that he could be there comfortably, and able to walk her down the aisle. With the help of their close friends and family, and Nikki + Taylor of Blooming House Collective, Jennie + Zach pulled their beautiful celebration together in less than a week (WOW!), and created a ceremony and a moment in time that will always be remembered by the two of them and their guests as something incredible.
More from Jennie, The theme of the wedding came from a fortune cookie that Zach and I got on our first date. It said “A Lifetime Of Happiness Awaits You” and we have let that influence our lives ever since. And from the beginning, we wanted our day to be about friends, and families coming together, but in the end it was clearly something more.
Big thanks to Cassie Loree Photography for the lovely photos and congratulations to Jennie + Zach on a beautiful and meaningful day!
In the moments leading up to everything, the worry, the sadness about my dad, the last minute details, questions about our future, questions about the weather (there had been tornado warnings in the area less than 24 hours before) all came to a stop. Time took a deep breath. The clouds parted to the clearest sky. The music started to play - "Turning Page" by Asleep At Last - it was a song our friends had picked out for us and arranged on guitar. My dad walked me down the isle (without his usual cane in hand), and Zach and I were surrounded by love and blessings from 20 of our closest friends and family.
As I finally stood in front of the love of my life and future husband, I heard our pastor Kyle say, "This is the day that The Lord hath made..." And it really was.
We seriously couldn’t love Jennie’s Victorian Dress by Free People more! So perfect for their sweet backyard soirée!
Everyone feasted picnic-style at this lovely table surrounded by vintage throws + printed pillows. It all looks like a total dream, don’t you think?
Jennie + Zach, congratulations again + thank you so much for sharing your beautiful day with us!

Cute wedding!! I love it
I’m so fond of this earthy natural approach to the occasion. One tires of endless enormous gowns and ‘bows and whistles’ on everything. Its refreshing to see the occasion being noted for love and not for its extravagance.
The colors of the guests outfits seems to blend to the whole palette.
Its a sublime wedding!
What a beautiful, sweet wedding! I absolutely love how intimate and genuine and down to earth everything is. Just how a wedding should be. :) Truly touching.
Their wedding is so moving.
This was one of the most touching weddings that I have been a part of. Thank you, Jennie, for allowing me to be a part of your big day! Sending lots of love and light to you and your family!
