Today’s autumn wedding, held at Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse in Saanichton, Canada, is just about as sweet as it gets. Susan + Colin wanted a simple “Kinfolk”-inspired wedding, so everything for their day was focused on what was most meaningful to them: close friends and family, a beautiful, rustic venue, and delicious, locally sourced cuisine. On the topic of food, it made perfect sense that it was one of the top priorities for this celebration since Colin’s family runs a local food publication called Eat Magazine. The chef from Juma, the catering company S + C chose, explained where all the food came from, and served the first chickpeas ever commercially grown on Vancouver Island! The food was perfectly complemented by several varietals of local cider, making it a perfect way to not only celebrate not only this sweet wedding day, but also the transition of the seasons from summer to fall.
Big thanks to Sarah of Fragment of Light for sending this beautiful wedding our way!
We’re loving the tones + textures seen in Susan’s bouquet by Verbena Floral Design!
The ceremony site had such a magical + intimate vibe, with angled seating, a view of the surrounding hills, rustic florals and romantic candlelight.
Sarah of Fragment of Light shares, Every person at the wedding was special to the bride and groom, and the intimate size of the wedding made it possible for them to spend quality time with each person. This was really lovely to witness and be a part of! It felt like one big family, eating together at community tables.
And Sarah closes with some savvy advice for couples planning now: Susan + Colin held their wedding in October, a shoulder season with lower prices on venues. This is such a beautiful time of year on the west coast, so it’s a great option to consider. In the planning process, lots of things can change, but if you keep the focus on what really matters, and how you want your day to be, you can still have the experience that you want, that really reflects who you are as a couple.
Big congrats to the happy newlyweds!

Loving the ceremony space! Looks very romantic.
This post is absolutely lovely. What I love most about it is the tones of all the details work so well with the photographs themselves. I feel everything warm, and romantic with a minimal sensibility to it. Well done to everyone involved on this wedding.
