I was at the Flower Market the other week and was loving all the pretty lilacs. A bunch of lilacs makes such a pretty bouquet for spring and with purple being such a hot color right now, super perfect for a wedding. And how about a lilac cake like the one below by favorite Maggie Austin? It’s like a lilac dream! Is anyone incorporating lilacs into their wedding?

I adore how she does that with cakes. It is so light and airy looking. I can’t imagine cutting into it though :) Lilacs are a fabulous wedding flower, who doesn’t love the way they smell? I am glad purple is showing it’s staying power… I just did a quilt for a wedding in slate and amethyst. It is a regal one for sure, but also a very happy colour. Love.
I normally hate purple, but the combination of lilac and white is really pretty here. And that cake! oh my!
