Holiday Party from Dart DJs + Gather Events

Just last week the GWS Team was sippin’ cocktails + saying hey to our industry friends at Dart DJs‘ awesome annual holiday ‘office’ party! This year the event was held at one of our fave LA spots, the Lombardi House in Hollywood, and was beautifully designed by the girls at Gather Events. The hashtag for the night was #holidaypartydown and, seriously, it was such a fun time! (We think that totally comes across in Rad and in Love‘s images from the night, too!) We’ve posted about past ‘office’ parties before, but let’s have the Dart DJs team catch us up to speed with their inspiration + concept for this event:

The wedding industry is an awesome and tight knit community of vendors and creatives who often work from home with a staff of one or two people. While we all work together on weekends, there is no office or weekday community for the large portion of us. As a result, we wanted to create a holiday party as a gathering for the larger “office” that is the wedding industry. Without agenda or networking, we wanted to create a party that was warm, festive and communal, a place where all of our friends could toast the end of the season and kick their shoes off for a day.

Robin from Gather Events tells us: Our ‘Mod Wonderland’ concept took cues from the beautiful neutral backdrop of the event barn at Lombardi House. We chose a stark winter white, icy blue and shiny silver color palette. We added in mid-century modern furniture lounges from Modernica Props, retro plates and glassware from Borrowed Blu and lots of sparkly details to keep things festive.

We cozied up the lounges with our own dyed modern snowflake pillows and Borrowed Blu’s plush throws and pillows. Twig and Twine’s pretty florals added a softness to the otherwise stark design.

Smilebooth was there, catching everyone’s best party grins behind Gather’s 3D string art trees!

And The Whaling Club got everyone in the holiday spirit with two varieties of festive punch! (You might recognize their name since we shared their gorgeous wedding last month!)

Small bites were provided by Bread And Water + pretty, winter-y florals by Twig and Twine.

Giant silver mylar balloons were used to spell out the holiday hashtag, #holidaypartydown. Robin shares, Later, when the party got really wild, we pulled them off the walls for guests to bat around on the dance floor. And then we made it SNOW!
