Happy Valentine’s Day you guys! And we have the most perfect wedding to share with you today: Hannah + John’s heart-themed Austin celebration! This adorable + artful pair wanted to craft a “winter wonderland meets Valentine’s Day” setting, filled with lots of gold, glitter, pinks, and hearts! Sounds like so much fun, right?! They came up with so many great ways to bring their playful theme to life and wisely teamed up with Tori from Sitting in a Tree, who was the perfect creative mastermind to help them achieve their dream day. Here’s a bit more about it from John:
Our wedding was on the fifth anniversary of the day we met. We wanted it to be intimate and personal, with the focus on celebrating our love, surrounded by those closest to us. Everyone there was one of our loved ones. My best friends played a huge role: our officiant, music for our processional and recessional, hair stylist, even singing back up to a song I wrote for Hannah – just to name a few. Hannah had a great vision of what she wanted it to be like, and Tori made everything more beautiful than we could’ve expected.
Big thanks to Studio Castillero for the super stunning images and congrats to Hannah + John on an absolutely lovely day!
Who says your ladies have to carry freshly cut blooms? We think these illuminated string hearts, adorned with vintage fabric fringe, are the perfect bouquet alternative!
Don’t the guys all look so handsome? Love their gold fabric heart bouts!
Processional: Something – The Beatles
Recessional: Two of Us – The Beatles
First Dance: Only You – The Platters

Hannah: During the cocktail hour, I saw my husband strapping a guitar around his shoulder and standing in front of a microphone with all his best men behind him. Little did I know he had written a song just for me and was about to perform it in front of all our wedding guests! It was such a sweet surprise that I never expected and made the day all the more special.
John: I think the combination of euphoria and relief after saying our own vows stands out the most to me. I didn't realize before how overcome with emotion I would be. It was a wonderful feeling telling Hannah the depth of my love for her. I was also really happy with how the surprise song I performed with my best men went; Hannah always loves a good surprise. All the guys really came through with singing back up- I'm truly grateful everything went perfectly.
The whimsical cake table is one of our fave details of the whole celebration!
Hannah: 1. Hire all your dream vendors! Just do it! 2. Bad things will happen during planning, even disastrous things (for me, ruining my wedding dress 1.5 weeks before the wedding!) Try to stay calm, trust those around you, and remember that at the end of all the planning, there will be one heck of a party and a handsome man to call your husband.
John: Don't procrastinate! Embrace all the love everyone's there to give.

Her hair is perfect, I’m super envious! Such a fun looking wedding – I really love the menu placed above the cake table. Very dear.
Happy Valentines Jen x
Adore the bridesmaids style, looks like an emotional & beautiful wedding !
I love the brides dress and I love the story you have told. Great!
Congratulations to John and Hannah! I love the whole hearts motif. Love the golden heart pins on the guys. And the ladies’ artistic and creative heart bouquets. The color choices are also great. Lovely wedding indeed!
Love the cake table.
Where can I find those delightful light up heart wands!!!! Love this cute heart filled wedding.
Alysia, my wedding coordinator/designer, Sitting in a Tree, actually made the heart wands herself using string lights from Restoration Hardware and vintage fabrics :).
Thanks for your reply Hannah!!! Wow talented! She should….. probably sell those on etsy haha.
The photobooth pic is adorable!
Absolutely love the bouquets and heart theme at this wedding! Lovely table decorations also. xoxo
Hannah, I love your bouquet!!! What type of flower/plant is it? I haven’t booked my florist yet, but would love to include this type of flower.
Your wedding was absolutely stunning, btw!
Hi Emily!
My wedding designer went to the flower market on the morning of our wedding and found these flowers for my bouquet :). They are called “rice flowers” and were super cheap! I loved how it looks like one big giant pink broccoli :)
My oh my what a gorgeous wedding. Stunning photography!
Hi Hannah!
I’m actually having my wedding at Mercury Hall in July! I love everything that you did, and was just wondering what you used to attach things to the wall???
Hi Andrea,
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! My planner/designer, Tori from Sitting in a Tree, did all the decorations so I’m not sure what she used to attach things to the walls. I know she used washi tape around the cake table, but that’s all I know. Sorry I wasn’t much help but all the best in planning!
I love this wedding! Where was the ceremony? That is a beautiful outdoor space.
The ceremony was at Mercury Hall in Austin, Texas :)
Adorable!
