As for the meal we made? Seriously DELISH! This is the summer vegetable marinara with polenta and soft-cooked eggs (a Lean & Clean meal). A few nights later, Jason + I made the grilled chicken breasts with salsa verde and white bean salad. This dish was part of “the best of Williams Sonoma’s classic recipes with a healthy Sun Basket twist!” and it was just as good. We’re definitely planning on recreating it in the future.

1. Dress up the table with some stems from a local flower shop. Flowers are a quick + easy way to elevate your tablescape (+ treat yourself). To make your freshly cut posies spread out even further, we suggest putting out a few bud vases with 1-2 blooms in each. If you’ve got a Trader Joe’s close to you — it’s an excellent resource for mini bouquets with a great variety. Adding a touch of greenery from your backyard works well, too!

Upgrade Your Flatware

2. Are you in the camp that reserves fine China + has the “good” plates strictly for special occasions + company? We’re firm believers that each + every day is a reason to celebrate — especially with the one that you love! So what better time to use the flatware + plates that you registered for? Oh, and we’re big fans of upgrading flatware into gold or rose gold… Definitely adds a luxe touch to the meal + makes it feel more special!

3. Lastly, eat outdoors!! We’re a bit spoiled here in Southern California and can eat outdoors most of the year… But if that’s not an option for you year-round, there are still a few weeks of summer left! Make the most of it. ;)
