Handmade Vintage Australian Wedding: Jess + Leon

mr and mrs signs

Jess has collected lots of things throughout her life – which worked out pretty perfect for her wedding with Leon! They used all the things she had been collecting over the years to decorate their venues and it couldn’t have looked more perfect and “Jess + Leon”. They described their day as intimate and a reflection of the two of them, while also being romantic + whimsical in the old fashioned, home-made sort of way. From Jess: Ever since I was little I have always noticed and valued the little personal touches that people put in and I think that those little touches are absolutely vital in creating an atmosphere filled with warmth and happiness. So we went to town and filled the whole day with them!

Such a pretty + love filled day! Congrats to Jess + Leon and thanks so much to Christine Lim for sharing her work with us today!

Jess surprised Leon with the lovely cufflinks (above) on the wedding day. The cufflinks were of their dogs. Unfortunately, one of their dogs, Dahlia passed away a week before the wedding, so the cufflinks were quite a meaningful gift.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

We honestly can not pin-point the most memorable moment of our day, each second was absolutely incredible, from walking down the aisle and seeing all the smiling faces of our closest friends and family, to watching everyone running around our reception exploring the different areas and listening to their excited ohh's and ahhh's, surprising everyone with our dance moves for the first dance (even thou we both have two left feet), right up to missing our bus ride home and seeing the looks on everyone's faces as we both gathered up armfuls of gifts and walked off into the night (luckily our house is just a short walk down the road)!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Make sure you enjoy the whole planning process, even when you are stressed up to your eyeballs and tears are streaming down your cheeks from being so tired because it really is one of the most incredible days you with both have! My only other tip is to have fun with the styling of it all! If you are like me and love a thousand different ideas and can't narrow them down then find a way to use them all! We had a different centrepiece for each table because there are just way too many cute things looking for loving homes out there and it still ended up looking amazing! :)
