Crystal + Andrew both wanted their wedding day to be a big celebration – filled with lots of help from friends and family! Crystal is lucky to have a sister who is also a talented photographer – Char Photography! Char split the day as a bridesmaid and the photographer. :) The whole family is pretty creative as Crystal’s brothers helped with the flowers, hairpieces + invites, Crystal designed her own dress and Crystal + Andrew together built their dance floor! The day was a combination of a little tradition, and a lot of charm, ease, sentiment and enjoyment. Big congrats to Crystal + Andrew!
Crystal: There are so many favorite moments! The most vivid one is in the morning. A few close friends made a delicious breakfast for us and we all sat out on the patio in the morning sun enjoying the beautiful start of a beautiful day. I was able to soak up the moments spent with those closest to me and feel the excitement of what the day had in store. My second favorite moment was square dancing at our reception! The lights strung over the dance floor were glowing warmly, the wooden dance floor was filled with merry dancing, everyone was having a great time, laughing and dancing, it was so much fun.
Andrew: All I wanted to do was give my bride her dream wedding! With all the detail and hours spent planning and preparing, walking around the grounds that morning and seeing everything come together just as we imagined was like a dream! Not to mention, the day was absolutely perfect – blue skies and fluffy clouds, just like we had hoped!
Processional: Canon in Gigue in D Major – Ragatal and Jason Carter
Recessional: Home – Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
First Dance: Sweet Pea – Amos Lee
Seeing our day come together just like we had imagined was so rewarding. Every ounce of time and effort was so worth it. From the drift wood we collected by the sea, to the dance floor we built ourselves out of reclaimed cedar, to the paper goods, bouquets and centerpieces carefully designed by my brothers, to the candy station (designed by my sister-in-law), my Grandmother’s antique dished used on the dessert table, and my sweet mother’s Bible used as a ring pillow. Every bit of the day was packed full of meaning, memories and so much love from those around us. It was such a precious day.
Take a break from planning every now and then and remind yourself what it is you are preparing for. Remember the excitement of what is about to take place! Don't miss out on enjoying such a precious season of life. And on the day of... soak in every bit of it. The smells, the sounds, the laughter, the tears, the love. Every bit of it, embrace the day!
