Being a graphic designer at heart, I just fell in love with all the gorgeous design details Lindsay + Stephen incorporated in their day. Stephen works as a book cover designer for Penguin Books and Lindsay works as a digital photo retoucher for Victoria’s Secret, as well as a freelance photographer, so naturally they wanted to convey their passion for the arts throughout their wedding. All the artwork for the wedding was designed by Stephen including the amazing anagram he designed using both their names (seen below – how amazing, right?!).
I love that both of Lindsay + Stephen’s father’s played important roles in their day. Stephen’s ring was handcrafted by Lindsay’s father. Lindsay’s father also helped craft the centerpieces which were pieces of driftwood they found in the Hudson river where Stephen proposed and he played an original song he wrote at the ceremony! Stephen’s father is a pastor and also served as their officiant making the ceremony even more special.
Thanks so much to Simply Bloom Photography for the gorgeous photos and congrats to Lindsay + Stephen!
Lindsay: I'll never forget the doors opening and stepping out with my father. It was a long walk, and as I got closer and closer, seeing all our guests there, knowing they came for us, and seeing Stephen for the first time was just so overwhelming. All the work and heart we put into this wedding and seeing it all come together was amazing. I felt so loved and deeply grateful.
It had also been rainy and cloudy all morning and the forecast for the start of the ceremony didn't look good. But the moment I stepped into my dress, miraculously, the sun came out and STAYED out for the entire wedding! It was unbelievable.
Stephen: For months I had built up in my head a huge, dramatic entrance by Lindsay after she chose one of our favorite songs to walk in to, "Glósóli" by Sigur Ros. But there was no way I could have prepared for how dramatic it actually was, as the music got louder and more powerful and Lindsay got closer and closer to me.
Processional: Glósóli – Sigur Ros
Recessional: Right Now – Van Halen
First Dance: Love, Love, Love (Love, Love) – As Tall As Lions
Each “passport” invitation guests received included a CD with the song Stephen wrote and proposed with. It was a personal invitation to travel together, so it seemed only natural to use it as the centerpiece for the whole event.
Stephen and I were constantly challenging each other as we thought of ideas for the wedding. We let our ideas evolve around a central theme which helped keep our vision focused and consistent. But through all this we wanted to have fun and enjoy the planning process. This is your time to display your love for each other and what you are both passionate about to the most important people in your lives! So work hard at making it special but don't lose sight of how much fun it can be together.

Love the “With this wing…” sign. Now I’m dying to do the same, but with a picture of cheese captioned with “To have and to mold”.
I think I love 100% of this wedding. The decor, the couple, the sunshine, the flowers, the clothing…I love it :)
Jeez, just look at that gorgeous couple! I love all the quirky elements strewn about.. Despite not knowing this couple at all, I feel like I know so much more about them based on these wonderful little touches!
The signage is so clever! I love how “borrowed” steals its “b” from “blue”! Zoe, you should totally do that cheese sign!
This is a wonderful wedding with great details. The mismatched bridesmaid dresses are great. The signage is fabulous.
Lindsay! Steve! Oh my word!!! What a fun surprise to see you here! :) But oh my land, so well deserved. You created a beautiful day!!! Hope you are both doing so well and loving married life!
Everything about this wedding screamed epic. The location, the dress, the suits, the ceremony, reception, EVERYTHING. The photography did very well too.
