Handmade Idaho Lavender Farm Wedding: Kelli + Tim

Lavender Farm Wedding

Today’s gorgeous bride, Kelli, is the editor at one of our fave lifestyle + interior publications, Rue, so obviously creativity runs deep in her veins. Then, when we heard that her now-hubby, Tim, was a professional artist, well, we knew their handmade Idaho lavender farm wedding was going to be good!

Kelli shares, Since I spend a lot of time looking at beautiful events for my job,  I was nervous about letting that aspect of my life control our day. As a result, we didn’t incorporate anything that wasn’t sentimental or meaningful to us as a couple. I knew Tim would offer excellent input on the design. We actually decided on almost everything together!

Kelli + Tim tied the knot on their family lavender farm in Emmett, Idaho – a town about 45 minutes outside of Boise. One unique aspect of the day was the fact that so many friends + family members jumped at the opportunity to help create the gorgeous environment you’re about to see! From building the ceremony arch, to brewing the beer, to the floral design + flower crowns, the day was definitely a labor of love. And something that special needs to be captured in a way that it can be remembered for years to come. Good thing Dylan and Sara Photography was all over it! Proof is in the beautiful captures below…

We love, love, love these mismatched bridesmaid dresses in shades of blue. Kelli’s ladies chose a dress that matched their own style from H&M, Zara, Michael Kors (via Nordstrom Rack), BB Dakota, Badgley Mischka (via Rent the Runway), Lulu’s + ASOS. The end result is as pretty as it gets!

How lovely is Kelli’s greenery-filled bouquet by Tim’s talented mom, Cathy Lamb of Lamb & Twig?!

Dinner was held alfresco in one of the farm’s beautiful meadows + the tables were decorated with rustic garlands, hand-sewn napkins + runners (made by Kelli’s mom) and wood-slice table numbers (hand-painted by the groom himself)! Kelli says, We were excited to use Tim’s last name (Lamb) within the design, and incorporated the animal into many aspects – the cake toppers, table décor, paper goods, and more.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Make sure that there is time for just the two of you on the actual wedding day. Tim and I opted to eat dinner at a small table for 2 on the edge of the bluff. We were able to talk about our vows, admire our amazing guests, crack jokes, and really soak in the moment. My brother had set up a “secret margarita bar” for us to slip away to if we felt overwhelmed at all during the reception, but the night was such a whirlwind that we never even got to take advantage. (Such a tragedy!! My brother makes a great marg.) If we hadn’t planned our “dinner date,” we would have not had that time to revel in such an important day.
