Handmade Cider Farm Wedding: Janet + Bryce

bride and groom

Every once in a while you see a wedding that you know is a geniunely true reflection of the couple + this is one of those weddings! Janet + Bryce were married on a gorgeous cider farm in British Columbia with only their closest family + friends in attendance. They fell so in love with the venue that it became their inspiration for the day. Here’s a bit more from Janet about how they made the farm their own:

Since Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse  is a working cidery, I wanted to incorporate apples into the decor. I also wanted to put my own twist on things, so I ended up spray painting a variety of foam apples in metallic colours. Because the beautiful harvest tables were so long, I wanted to fill the length of the table with not only flowers, but apples, books, apothecary jars and votive candles. This was very much a DIY wedding! From spray painting jars + apples, designing a crest with our wedding date and screen printing it onto old books and creating the ‘flow chart’ seating chart and the string art.

Aren’t these photos by Ameris lovely? Congratulations Janet + Bryce!

Bryce insisted that we use our 1987 Volvo as our getaway car. Affectionately know as ‘Carlo’, it fit right in with the style of the wedding and was a representation of us as well!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

The whole day was a whirlwind, but the most memorable moment for us I think would be the feeling of love and happiness knowing that everyone in attendance was there for us! Most of our guests had to travel quite a bit to attend our wedding, and both Bryce and I were touched that our friends and family could make it. We also loved seeing everyone mingling and getting along – such a great feeling!

We kept the ceremony short and gave our guests the option of sitting at tables or standing – most people gathered around us – which was perfect!

There were so many rad, handmade details throughout!

And I love the use of proteas, both in Janet’s bouquet + incorporated into the table design.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

I know a lot of people say this, but this day is a reflection of you as a couple! Don't include things because of tradition or because other people want you to. It's really your day and do exactly what you want to do! (You might have to gently remind people about this!)
