According to fate, Grant Show (yes Jake from one of my faves Melrose Place!) and Katherine LaNasa (who’s resume includes films such as The Campaign, Jayne Mansfield’s Car, Valentine’s Day and Alfie) were without a doubt meant to be! The pair met briefly while on the set of HBO’s Big Love and bumped into each other again 6 months later when they were staying at the same hotel in Canada. After coincidently making dinner plans with the same mutual friend, and running into each other again + again over the next several months, Grant officially asked Katherine out for a St. Patrick’s Day date, the two of them had a total blast, and, well, the rest is pretty much history! :)
Not only is Katherine an accomplished actress, she is also an interior designer (with her company Casa LaNasa), so she has been designing + decorating for years. To help execute her wedding vision, Katherine worked with Carole of Bright Blue Events and Kia Mallon of Tinsel City Social Club, to plan her intimate rainbow-themed wedding at The Oak Grove at Ribbit Tree & Plant Nursery in Topanga, California. One of my favorite details of their beautiful celebration was their decision to host a white party, requesting that all of their guests don white from head-to-toe. The best part? In order to stand out from the crowd of achromatic apparel, Katherine wore a bright yellow Naeem Khan dress paired with orange Prada shoes and Grant rocked an awesome navy blue suit. Talk about turning a tradition upside down!
Big thanks to Marianne Wilson Photography for sharing Grant + Katherine’s day with us! And now for the super fun photos…
Katherine carried a cheerful bouquet of dahlias + feverfew, wrapped casually with a rainbow-hued ribbon.
Their ceremony site was festive + beautiful with a giant Rachael Rice rainbow dream catcher serving as a backdrop + a flurry of fluffy purple paper poms swaying gently in the warm afternoon breeze.
And I’m super in love with their reception decor, which featured Mexican blanket textiles, citrus + floral centerpieces and an amazing disco ball installation!
The night ended with a bang – a surprise rainbow-hued piñata + a delicious rainbow wedding cake from Cake Divas!
Such a fun celebration! Grant + Katherine, congratulations on a gorgeous day + best wishes from all of us at Green Wedding Shoes!
