Get the Look: A Cali Beachy Boho Bedroom

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday. If you’ve been following us for awhile, you might recognize the photo above from my bedroom. :) We shared a post on our beachy boho bedroom about a year ago, but I wanted to share an update on the room since we now have it mostly finished (is a room design ever done?!) along with some tips on where to find fun pieces to finish the design of your bedroom – the pieces that make it feel like your own including pillows, rugs, pots for plants, blankets, and more!

First, below is the side sitting area – this is all brand new. Our old bedroom was much smaller, so we had to find the right pieces for this area and I love how it turned out! Jason and I both love hanging in this area to get some work done in the morning (the french doors open to our patio) as well as take calls here sometimes if the other is taking a call in our home office.

We knew we wanted a super comfy couch to place against this wall, but we needed a couch on the smaller side. After doing some research we stumbled across Interior Define. They have a bunch of different sofa styles and you can customize the length of the couch and the fabric which was perfect for us! I loved the shape of the Caitlin Sofa and we went with a 71″ length and the Tin Plush Sateen fabric with Natural Oak Tapered Square Wood legs. I loved that they send you swatches in advance (we picked a bunch to find the perfect material and color!) and then it took about 6 weeks to arrive. I was nervous ordering online (although we had a really great experience with Joybird in the past), but it’s also scary not being able to see something in person first, but we LOVE how it turned out. And the most important part is that it IS super comfy which was the main goal for this space.

So, let’s talk about this amazing wall hanging for a minute!! I have been eyeing the gorgeous work of Steady Hand Creative ever since discovering her on Instagram. I reached out to her about creating this custom piece for the space and just LOVE how it turned out! I think incorporating one large unique piece really makes the space your own. This could be a wall hanging, large artwork or print.

And this little spot is one of my favorite spots in our home! The chair is actually pretty comfortable and makes for a great place to work with your laptop. I’m also trying so hard to be a plant lady! I just LOVE them around our home and I’m getting better at keeping them alive!! I love collecting cool pots and picking up new plants to fill our space with.

Incorporating fun prints, photographs and wall hangings were a must for our bedroom. So many great places to shop for these now days!!

The rest of our bedroom is pretty much the same as before….we do love to swap out pillows and add new ceramics to that round display hanging (another of my favorite pieces in our home!). I plan to pick up more unique finds from our travels this year to add to the shelf – another way to make your space more your own and remind you of all the amazing places you traveled to! :)

The last way to freshen up any bedroom – pillows and a new comforter! I’ve been switching different pillows out with the seasons as I love to mix up the design a bit, plus I LOVE pillows and can’t stop buying them. :) We also swapped out our white comforter for this fun geo print comforter – along with their pillow shams.
