Get Married at the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina

Four Seasons Oahu

Some of you may know that Jason + I have a thing for Hawaii… So when we were asked to check out the new Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina, we were all about it! Located on Oahu’s rugged western coastline, it’s far from the crowds of Waikiki, and a little under 20 miles from the Honolulu International Airport (score!). Ko Olina literally means a ‘place of joy,’ and was definitely a fitting name for the resort. Inspired by “Old Hawaii” (think pre-1940’s Hollywood/Elvis/Blue Hawaii and commercial tourism), the resort captures a nostalgic feeling and everything is done with an outpouring of the true Aloha Spirit.

While it was a perfect place for our family to enjoy (3 year old Sienna + baby Dakota in tow) — especially with the sheltered beach lagoon, complete with water toys, as well as a family pool — it also makes a great location to get married!! The resort offers an adults-only beach and pool, expert wedding planners + artists that capture the sought after Hawaiian design, and TONS of delicious meal options.

Let’s take a look at what a seaside wedding would look like here, captured by Roy Nuesca

The circular configuration seen in this cozy lounge symbolizes encompassing the couple in the love generated by all those present. Based on an ancient practice of wrapping the couple in a cloth to symbolize unification and togetherness, this is a popular tradition to have at Hawaiian weddings. This is perfect example of an intimate ceremony space to say I Do!

And how pretty are all those décor pieces, sourced from local Hawaiian designers + artisans? We wouldn’t mind having a few of those items in our home…

Do any of you recognize this dress + that ring? This is one of the dresses we designed for the GWS x Show Me Your Mumu Bridesmaid Dress Collection! The dark floral print is perfect for bridesmaids, or those on a tropical honeymoon + getaway. A major bonus? It seriously doesn’t wrinkle which makes it perfect to pack and put on to look super chic while on the islands. Oh and that gold leafy ring? It’s from our GWS x Mejuri Jewelry Collection Refresh. :)

Yeah… We’re pretty fond of each other. :)

Let me also take a quick moment to talk about the food here! If you guys are foodies like we are you are going to LOVE this resort!! There are 4 restaurants on property: Fish House (a line-to-table seafood restaurant for lunch, dinner and drinks. We recommend the poke sampler and the Hawaiian Snapper entree as well as the Sunday Brunch here – order the 50 First Dates Lilikoi pancakes!!), La Hiki (a modern update on the exotic pan-Asian restaurants of yesteryear – we LOVED the lobster tempura here as well as the steamed catch of the day, oh and save room for the Pandan donuts – yum!), Noe (described as Capri-meets-Oahu this Italian restaurant features pasta and fresh fish. Definitely order the whipped ricotta with truffle honey here as well as the Yellowtail Crudo and Maccheroni pasta with crab, spinach and lemon) and Waterman Bar & Grill is open for lunch by the pool.

The dinner table was designed by Fong Tagawa of Floral Inspirations, the Four Seasons Oahu in-house florist. The majority of the florals and fresh fruit on this tablescape were sourced from Kahumana Farms, a small local organic farm located just 20 minutes from the resort in Waianae Valley on the West Side of Oahu.

Stunning, right?! This area of the property where the ceremony and dinner table took place is called “Pohaku Point”. For those that are curious — it’s available for weddings, engagements, private dinners, and events!

The traditional Hale (pronounced “Ha-lay“) was a replica of the forms of shelter the ancient Hawaiians lived in. This hale at Four Seasons is also available for private dinners and events.
