Festive Holiday Engagement Session: Sarah + Taylor

Holiday Engagement Session

Can you believe Christmas is only two days away? The holidays crept up on us so quickly this year, so we’d totally understand if you weren’t quite in the spirit of the season just yet. Luckily today’s insanely sweet holiday engagement session, captured + designed by Cassie Rosch, is about to have us all feeling those warm + fuzzy Christmas vibes and we think once you’ve scrolled all the way through you’ll be more ready than ever for the festive days ahead!

Cassie shares, Sarah + Taylor are planning a wedding in their favorite season – winter! What better way to celebrate the excitement that comes along with the season of wedding planning than with an engagement session that showcases all your favorite elements of the holiday season – gift giving, cocktails, dinner parties + a beautifully decorated home? Not to mention a red vespa! I loved the innocence of their love, the carefreeness that this session showed + the lovely colors of christmas!

We’re pret-ty in love with the styling of this session + the florals by Lace + Lilies were a perfect fit. It just can’t get cuter than this!

Sarah + Taylor spill the details on how they met: Taylor and I first met at a flag football game. He was in the middle of playing and a mutual friend introduced us at the first pause. I thought he was cute, and a stud at sports. I later found out that after first meeting me Taylor promised himself he was going to take me out on a date!

From the very beginning we had a lot in common, and over the next few months we spent lots of time together, going on adventures in the outdoors whether they involved a simple bonfire or getting lost in the hills of Arkansas for hours on end which always seemed to be our favorite thing to do together, we loved being active as well as spending time with friends and family. Becoming good friends just felt right from the start. Yet after just a few months of dating, we had to spend the summer on completely opposite sides of the country. Though those months were hard, they showed each of us that our feelings had changed – that our friendship had grown into love. And we wanted to spend the rest of our lives in an adventure together.

The following summer we were both in California. I drove down to San Diego one weekend to visit Taylor, where he had a full day planned. After snorkeling, shopping, and walking the beach, he took me out to one of his favorite spots: Sunset Cliffs. There, right at sunset, on the edge of a beautiful cliff overlooking the ocean, he proposed. And I said yes.

We started right into planning the wedding, and quickly decided we wanted a winter wedding. There’s something about winter that I’ve always loved. Maybe it’s that holiday feel of family and community coming together alongside the crisp air. With people being such a strong part of our relationship – both family and those we find to be family – celebrating the beginning of our marriage just fit right into the season.

Absolutely adorable! Thanks so much to Sarah + Taylor for sharing your story + to Cassie Rosch for sending this sweet session our way!
