If you caught our list of the 24 Best Barn Venues for your Wedding, perhaps you’re in the midst of planning yourselves a barn wedding for this fall! If that’s the case, make sure your Pin It button is ready for action + be prepared to take a mental note or two, because Jackie + Jake’s gorgeous Vermont wedding just couldn’t be better. These two met while living in New York, and spent a lot of time hiking + skiing in Vermont as a couple. As a nod to to their dating days, they chose to tie the knot at the West Mountain Inn for its beautiful barn + amazing all-around views. They dreamt up a day that was elegant and romantic – with a slight nod to vintage – ending with one totally killer dance party! Fun, right? And hiring Lauren Wells Events to plan, design + execute the event was a pretty smart move if you wanna know what we think! Below, Jackie shares how they came up with their concept:
There was one day after Jake and I got engaged where we just looked at each other and said, “Vermont, fall, barn”. And that was that; we shared the same vision from the get-go about how we wanted to celebrate our wedding. In terms of look and feel, we wanted the day to be intimate, romantic and authentic.
Thanks so much to First Mate Photo for the beautiful images and biggest congrats to J + J!
You really just can’t beat this scenery!

Pollen Floral Design nailed it with this stunner bouquet!
Due to a little last minute rain, the ceremony was moved under a tent, but that didn’t alter the beauty of the celebration, nor did it distract from the beautiful autumn foliage views!
The couple’s fave details of the day? The giant floral chandelier hanging right above the dance floor, along with the floor decal created by Lauren Wells that read: ‘Dance Yrself Clean’ (the name of their favorite LCD Soundsystem song)!
Our first dance was absolutely magical. Our florist, who also happens to be an extremely talented music teacher, agreed to sing our first song, Ingrid Michaelson's 'You and I', and play the ukulele. There's a part at the end of the song where I envisioned all of our wedding guests stomping and clapping to the beat of the song and my husband and I just dancing and floating away in the moment. That happened. Listen to the song and you'll get what I mean.
Weddings add up, fast. Define what's important to you, WITH YOUR PARTNER, and punt on the rest. My husband and I had a deal. If we found ourselves fighting about flowers (example) we were just not going to have any. Super glad we never fought about flowers. hehe

These images are gorgeous, the autumnal colours coming through are stunning, really very nicely done
Soooo cute. I love your job.
Congratulations!
Llama’s cameo appearance gave me “wut?” moment of the day :)
Loving the fall look.
Soooo absolutely stunning!!! I love barn weddings and this is one of the most gorgeous ones i’ve seen!
The crisp autumn colours is such a nice change from the traditional pink and pastels we see at most weddings. Everything about this wedding is striking, from the details, to the couple. I adore the florals and dark greens, that are really set off by the rich wood of the barn walls and the twinkle lights. Beautiful work!
These photos make me want autumn to come early! Love that time of year!
