According to Marianne Wilson, the photographer behind this beautiful wedding, Abigail + Steve are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. During the planning process Abigail even got the nickname “bridechilla” because she was so easy-going and relaxed throughout the process! Um, that pretty much rocks! :) Their day was filled with details that were super gorgeous + reflective of the two of them. This included framed airport codes on each table to represent Steve’s love of flying, a crepe cutting and root beer float sharing instead of cake (because neither of them care for cake), and church pews as a nod to the one Abigail remembers from her childhood home. And even the date was symbolic! Abigail’s grandparents tied the knot on the same day 61 years prior. Love that! Let’s have a look at their charming celebration…
As always, Primary Petals did an incredible job with the florals! Love the use of fun textures throughout the bouquet + in the boutonniere!
Steven: The most memorable moment of our wedding day was when I finally saw the most beautiful women I have ever seen turn the corner and begin walking down the aisle. Abigail had an amazingly authentic smile that radiated the love and joy she brings to my life. Once I saw her, the build-up and anticipation from months past turned to tremendous joy and excitement. I was about to marry the women who challenges and encourages me to be the man God created me to be.
Abigail: My most memorable moment was the wedding ceremony. Walking down the aisle with my dad when I was supposed to take my time, but basically ran down out of pure excitement. We chose to write a personal part of our vows separately then said vows that we wrote together. It was so meaningful saying these words that were important to us. His personal vows were very special and definitely a tearjerker for me. Not to mention it was the windiest day in recorded history and it only added to the texture and beauty of the day.
Get a wedding planner!! Brooke was the most helpful throughout the entire process. She executed every idea and took care of anything we needed her to. We were able to enjoy our wedding day with family and friends without worrying about anything going on. The other advice I would have is to not just go with wedding trends. Be true to who you both are. Remember the reason you are planning this crazy day is to marry your best friend! The wedding is one day, but your marriage is forever.
