Fairytale-Inspired Wedding: Cassi + Chris – Part 2

Fairytale bridesmaids

If you are stopping by GWS for the first time today, stop scrolling + backtrack to part one of Cassi + Chris’ insanely fun fairytale wedding! We promise that you won’t be sorry you did! Their reception was filled with so many amazing, handmade elements; a team effort between Cassi + her vendor crew, Whimsical Gatherings + luxe catering.

Cassi says, At the entrance of the reception was a banner that said “Be our guest” that was handmade by our wedding planner.  I also picked out my favorite Disney love quotes and my planner made banners for each reception table with them.  She made one for our sweetheart table that said “And they lived happily ever after” and she hung it on the ivy wall behind our table.  I collected little figurines and décor pieces from flea markets and antique stores that corresponded with each Disney movie and had them placed on each themed table.  The reception colors were darker and more lush.  The vines all along the stone wall added to the drama of the room.  I also handwrote the fairytales for each table on every other charger to add to the storybook theme.  We had a moss filled frame as our seating chart with my handwritten escort tags and keys attached to it.  I put the person’s name on one side of the tag and their love quote table name on the other side so that they would know which table to sit at. The room was full of love and laughter and it was just as perfect as we could have ever planned.  We had our own table away from everyone and were able to look out at all of our loved ones throughout the night.

Let’s take a look through Jessie Holloway Photography’s beautiful captures from the day…

The entrance to the reception felt like you were entering a party held in a beautiful seceret garden. We love the calligraphed escort cards, styled with a vintage-inspired key…

There were numerous fairytale inspired objects around, from vintage books sitting on stone ledges and hanging from trees, to a beautiful antique spinning wheel perfectly placed in the garden. I found a gorgeous antique copy of Hans Christian Anderson’s fairytales that was a beautiful golden yellow with gold lettering on it. I decided that I wanted to use this story book as our guest book so we bought a feather quill pen and had a vintage inkwell near it for people to sign our guestbook in true fairytale style. Vintage furniture pieces were placed around the garden for people to take a seat, get comfortable, and chat. I wanted this area to be relaxed as well and our caterer did a wonderful job at picking the perfect foods for people to snack on before the reception.

We had all of our guests pick up one of the candlesticks from their reception table and had them line up for our send off with lit candles in hand. It was a romantic and intimate way for us to be sent off from the most perfect day we could have imagined.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Make sure that you give yourselves time to enjoy planning your wedding and make sure that you don’t let that planning cause you to fight or argue. It is such a special time in your life that you will never get to do again and you should enjoy every second leading up to it. I would also advise them to write their own vows for one another. It truly is one of the most special things you can do at your ceremony and it makes your guests feel even more a part of your love story and special day.
