Ethereal, Intimate Wahclella Falls Wedding: Allison + Jason

Wahclella Falls Elopement

Allison + Jason are from Idaho, but were looking for a more fairtyale-like setting for their intimate wedding. They found it (and then some) once they made the decision to head to Oregon to tie the knot! They settled on exchanging their vows atop a cliff right next to the waterfall in Wahclella Falls. And with just a few close friends in tow, they were really able to soak in their ethereal surroundings, have a meaningful ceremony, and ensure the wedding they’d been dreaming about would come to life! More from A + J below:

Our love bloomed with a shared passion for stories, adventures, and wild places. The Columbia River Gorge combines all of those things in the most beautiful way imaginable, like a fantasy world. Jason proposed during the first of many shared trips to Portland, so returning there for our best adventure fit. Wahclella Falls is the sort of place that demands your full presence in the moment. It’s ethereal and magical, wild and wonderful, perfect for us. No details or distractions, just beauty and simplicity. It was a dream.

Thanks so much to To Wander and Seek for the gorgeous photos!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Jason: My advice is to approach the wedding as a team, and make sure the planning pressure isn’t ever all on yourself or all on your partner. Allison has a gift for planning that I don’t, but she still felt and planned better when I was there, providing input and support.

Allison: Make a plan that makes you and your partner happy. Really, that’s it, that’s the most important thing. Don’t worry about what other people might think, don’t worry about being unconventional. It’s a celebration of your love. Make it reflect that and make it fun! Of course you’ll want to make it a beautiful day, but don’t forget the fun part!
