Engagement Session with Heart Balloons

It should come as no surprise that we heart Priscila Valentina here at GWS! From this engagement shoot on a boat with confetti to this cute handmade boho chic wedding, her work always evokes such a fun + playful vibe! Today we are excited to share a super sweet engagement session she shot recently, which features a red vintage bike and a huge bundle of heart balloons (reminds me of another one of my faves shoots with heart balloons)! It’s the perfect way to wrap up our Valentine’s Day week + give you something pretty to think about as you head off to whatever fun adventure you have planned! :)

Aren’t Kishi + Danny cute?! They met a few summers back during a friendly game of pick-up soccer. After spending an incredible year and a half together, Danny proposed to Kishi with the sweetest scavenger hunt, which you won’t want to miss reading about at the end of the post!

And now for the sweet proposal story!

The proposal day was a complete surprise, full of love and thoughtfulness from Danny and my four best friends, who are all bridesmaids. The day of the proposal the girls and I went out to brunch to celebrate graduation. After eating, we all said our goodbyes, and my roommate and I headed back home for what I thought was the end to a perfect morning spent with my best friends. As I arrived home the scavenger hunt began. There was a bright blue envelope taped on the front door saying “Clue #1”; inside Danny had wrote how proud he was of me for graduating and that the beginning of my hunt was about to begin, leading me to my graduation present. The scavenger hunt proceeded to take me all around Fullerton to all of mine and Danny’s favorite and special spots. The place we always sat and met before classes on campus, the beautiful Fullerton Arboretum where we would spend time wandering and eating lunch together, etc, ending with Craig Park, the park we went and walked around for hours while getting to know each other.

What made it even more special was that at each place a different friend was holding the next card, was able to share in my excitement and happiness, and was the driver for me to the next spot. The very last clue was actually a graduation present, an iPad and a note saying, “Congratulations, you finished the scavenger hunt! I’ll meet you at your apartment!” completely throwing me off. My friend then started driving us home, but turned off of the path to my apartment and right into the park where Danny and I had our first date. I saw him standing there, at the end of the path, with flowers blooming all around him and at that moment knew what the whole scavenger hunt was really for. I stepped out of the car to be greeted by his brother, a singer and guitarist, who sang Phil Wickham’s “Always Forever” and walked me to his brother.  After a beautiful speech, and a lot of tears, Danny got down on one knee and proposed. It a proposal better than I could have imagined and really reflected the thoughtful and amazing man Danny is.

Thanks again to Priscila Valentina for the super sweet photos + congrats to Kishi + Danny!
