Elegant London Wedding: Tamara + Jonno

london wedding

Tamara + Jonno were married down in the crypt of St Paul’s Cathedral with their reception held at the Trafalgar Tavern looking out onto the Thames in central London. Tamara wore one of my favorite Jenny Packham dresses along with her mother’s vintage fur coat. They had two gorgeous Red Routemaster buses take them from the church to the reception…followed by amazing food, beautiful speeches and then a set from their ‘super band’ (a mix of all their friends from different bands playing together).

I just love what their photographer Emma Case had to say about the two of them…

Tamara and Jonno were made for each other. Jonno cried pretty much most of the day and Tamara never stopped smiling. They both just kept looking at each other in total disbelief at how amazing their wedding day was and how amazing it was to be married and how amazing their friends and family were. It was an absolute joy from start to finish to be a part of their day and we love them to pieces.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

It’s an obvious one – but I loved the service. You spend so long planning everything around it that you can lose sight that it’s all about the vows. It was so emotional. We got married in the crypt under St Paul’s Catherdal because Jonno’s dad has an MBE, and it is the Crypt of the British Empire. So it was special because it was something his dad could provide for us – but also St Paul’s is a symbol of London, the city we live in and the city we love. It’s brilliant every time we see it to think that it’s now part of our history.

We spent a really long time questioning the decisions we made, as we didn’t want just to have wedding by numbers. It’s easy to get caught up in the hype and do everything by the book – but what’s important is how the day reflects you as a couple. When we got engaged we sat down and talked about what we wanted from the day, and what was important to us. I said speeches. Jonno wanted an hour of old-school music and a green lazer. Both were amazing.

We had a band playing for an hour who were a ‘supergroup’ made up of my friends and Jonno’s friends who played instruments – some of whom had never met before the four rehearsals they had!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

On the day don’t stress about a thing – plan it well, write a thorough list... and then you can hand it all over! Everyone will help out on the day, people like little jobs to do – it makes them feel important. However, don’t let everyone take over before then – you don’t need an organizing committee, otherwise you run the risk of it not being ‘your day’.

I promise you are all going to freaking love getting married! I promise you will! I’m jealous of you all that you have this amazing day to come...
