Eclectic Carnival-Inspired Wedding in Brazil: Marcela + Lucas

Brazil Wedding

Today’s real wedding is nothing but pure fun, and we’re totally sure you’re going to fall in love with Marcela + Lucas any minute now! With no white dress, no wedding rings, no officiant and no scripted vows, M + L were free to completely be themselves and let their unique love shine through every facet of their day. They focused on a bright color palette, their Mardi Gras/carnival-inspired parade and celebrating with their friends + family who traveled in from all over the world. As their photographer, Thaminne of Aloha Fotografia puts it, There was obvious, immeasurable love and happiness all over the place! It just can’t possibly get any better!

Thaminne tells us, They dressed up with all their guests at the corners of the hotel and both bride and groomsman got blindfolded. Once they were ready, the made the walk to the square’s culprit, holding their parents hands. The band was playing in the background and everybody was watching, once the walk was done they finally took the blindfold off to look at each other all to fall in love with each other all over again.

The wedding was celebrated by their family and friends, each and every one bringing them a tiny piece of themselves, either on singular or plural basis…. They were little notes that made all guests laugh to tears…Therefore, they shared the wine broke the bread in a non-traditional way, the wedding ring was drawn with a sharpie, the vows were read from atop of a table (having the hills as witnesses in the background), at the end, as an attitude of blind trust of those who wedded them, they fell from the table onto the arms of their maids and groomsmen. It was a giant “YES” cried out loud by a group of people who truly love, care and felt excitement to their bones with their happiness, and everything was so intense that even if it were celebrated in the middle of the street in a pouring day it would still be beautiful and overwhelming just as it was. It was all in place to emphasize what was most important about that day…. THEM!
