What do you get when a city girl marries a country boy? This elegant gold mining inspired wedding at Dunton Hot Springs (also featured in our Top 26 Coolest Places to Get Married), in the mountains of Colorado! Incorporating brass, copper and geodes into the design, plus the pink and golden hues of the surrounding mountains – one dreamy palette was created. The planner, Alison from Alison Events, tells us The ceremony, set in the tranquil meadow covered in daisies was a happy accident. On previous site visits and scouting trips – the earth had been covered in snow; so Natalie, the florist, and I were unaware of what was beneath. When we arrived on the weekend of the wedding we were thrilled to discover a pasture of daisies, a perfect setting for this bohemian ceremony.
Emily + Nathan’s rustic mountain wedding was filled with so many gorgeous elements, and the fun continued throughout the weekend. Photographer Paige Jones captured all the details – from the rehearsal dinner, to the day-after “Cowboy Brunch”, to a romantic hot springs shoot with just the bride + groom. In fact, there is so much pretty that we had to share this wedding in two parts! See all the details from their rehearsal dinner here.
The mountains are calling, let’s go!

The bride stuns in stunning this Reem Acra gown. We think the neutral + blush tones of the dress really complement the surrounding area.
The bride’s pretty veil is from BHLDN.
Nathan, the super handsome groom, is wearing a suit from J. Crew.
The bride, Emily, shares It was important that we were able to combine our worlds and our pasts, which is how we came to an upscale rustic wedding. Also, we wanted to have a small + intimate wedding, in order to spend a lot of time with each person who flew in to be there!
They made great use of the bare tepee that is a permanent fixture of the property.
Walking down the aisle with my father and seeing Nathan for the first time... I was so overcome with emotion and I just remember being so excited to get married to my best friend!
Aren’t they the cutest?!
Floral vessels were custom made of wood and adorned with gold leafing, to continue the gold mining aesthetic. The florist, Natalie Bowen Designs, mixed in many dried floral elements to give the arrangements a fuss free, modern and sculptural appearance.

When you’re scouting for vendors – make sure you pick somebody that you trust, and then commit to them. They are an expert in their field and will help you execute your vision. Rely on them to help you on the big day; micro-managing every detail is too overwhelming and will take a lot of fun out of the day.
