Dreams of the Summer Solstice: Warm + Moody Wedding Inspiration

Summer Solstice Inspiration

The dawn of summer is a glorious time… It is historically the pinnacle month for weddings, and the muse for this dreamy styled shoot! This summer solstice editorial loosely draws inspiration from the heavenly bodies of the sun, moon and stars in an organic, luxurious fashion. Designed by GATHER Events, we’re definitely *over the moon* about this concept. Replete with lavish textures, gradient colors, and moody elements, the styled shoot took on a warm + ethereal quality, much like midsummer nights.

Ready to become *starry eyed* over all the amazing details? Let’s take a look at the captures taken at Herban Feast’s Sodo Park by Sarah Carpenter!

Incorporating the elegant celestial vibe right from the start, calligrapher Copper Willow crafted this *starry* invitation suite.

black stone engagement ring

Ditching the traditional diamond ring, the team opted for these gorgeous baubles by Marrow Fine (and we can’t take our eyes off of them!!).

The Dress Theory

dreamcatchers

The cool ethereal qualities of the moon and all her various phases are brought in through the bone, grey, and mauve colored textiles and flowers, circular and semi circular shapes, and moonstone like opaque lanterns. While the warmth of the sun is represented in the warm tangerine and peach colors, gold metallics, sun ray imagery, and geometric shapes.

The use of rich textures was paramount, and brought in with velvet, linen, and silk. That ivory silk runner + the flowing ribbons on the bouquet? All hand dyed + crafted by Tono and Co!

The warm + moody tones definitely carried over to the tablescape with pops or orange, dusty rose, and accents of black + gold. We’re especially fond of the lush flower laden arrangements by Gather Design Company!
