Dolce Gabbana Inspired Wedding: Lenka + Lukas

Dolce & Gabbana Inspired Wedding

Inspired by Dolce & Gabbana’s latest ad campaign, along with their favorite movie, La Dolce Vita, Lenka + Lukas designed their dream high-fashion wedding at Wieger’s Villa in Slovakia. For a couple who loves Italian fashion, food, wine and overall way of life, it was a truly ideal fit – and we think the photos below by peter & veronika show it all in perfect detail!

Lenka + Lukas say, La Dolce Vita movie was a great source of inspiration for our key graphic visuals as well as our outfits. We wanted to have a wedding that will be completely different from the traditional weddings we have seen around us. The challenge was to bring the black and white film into colorful real life wedding – make it a bit of a combination of the old La Dolce Vita movie spirit mashed with modern Dolce & Gabbana colorful editorials.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Lukas: Cliché, I know, but it was definitely seeing Lenka for the first time walking down the aisle in that amazing dress that pretty much sums up her whole persona.

Lenka: Once the official ceremony was over, the knot was tied, we walked away hand in hand passing by all our loved ones, Jason Derulo song was playing, people threw flower petals at us and it all came to me and the feeling was amazing. I didn’t really realize what was happening until this moment.

Gladly we found a location that resembles little bit the Italian countryside. The tough part about the venue was to push back its “too romantic and rustic” atmosphere and give it the high-fashion and modern vibe we wanted.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

The most important thing for us was that we set out a key rule at the very beginning of our planning - make the wedding “for us and by us”. That pretty much guided the whole planning, from picking out graphics, design, flowers, music, dresses, food, drinks and all. Forget about current wedding trends and routine advices from boring wedding planners and decorators. Make it your own. Make it a wedding no one has had before around you. Tell that to your planners and suppliers and be clear on what you expect.
For us the most important person during the planning phase was an event planner and organizer whose biggest job was to run the show during the wedding day. We pretty much picked out our own suppliers, decorators, tailors, photographers, etc. but we needed someone who will finish the job and run the most important day for us. This was a single guy who put all the bits and pieces of the whole planning puzzle together and allowed us to enjoy our day without worrying too much. To give you an idea, on the wedding day before the actual start, Lukas was chilling by the pool with his friends and Lenka was getting her hair and makeup done with a glass of champagne in her hand – that’s exactly what we wanted.
