We recently partnered with Afloral.com – a rad silk flower company that specializes in flowers that looks SO real, like the ones above. Crazy, right?! So today we are sharing how to make silk flower wreaths using all their products! Not only is it easy, but these hanging wreaths would look so great for a ceremony backdrop, or in your home. And best of all, they’ll never wilt! We were inspired by some fall berry tones so here is how we made them…
• Silk flowers + supplies from Afloral. We chose products like peonies, moss + greenery from this curated page on Afloral.com
• Hot glue gun
• Fishing wire
• Tape
• Scissors
Step 1: Plan out the flowers you want to use by grouping them together to form a cohesive look. Play around in this part! Then, start by placing your fern garland around the edge of your hoop and tie to secure in place with fishing wire. Glue gun down any spots that pop up or aren’t staying down.
Step 2: Start by taking a focal flower (like the Peony) and taping/gluing down onto the wreath. We laid these down on a side that was a little more bare so the rest of the wreath looked full. You can also later fill in any spots that show the hoop with other filler flowers.
Step 3: Take the smaller filler flowers (like the anemone and ranunculus) and arrange as you like down the hoop. We cascaded down from our focal flower and just did what we liked and thought looked good.
Step 4: Finish your wreaths by filling with greens like moss, thistle, ferns or amaranthus.
Depending on how you choose to display these, we tied fishing wire to each wreath and hung them on the wall in a staggered position, like above. Pretty and fun, right?!
