DIY: Scalloped Felt Wreath

DIY Scalloped Felt Wreath

I’m loving this fun + festive holiday wreath from the Going Lovely gals! The wreath has the perfect mix of glam + modern – and of course you can use any colors you’d like for the felt to have it match your favorite holiday colors. :)

Step 1: Make your stencil
Print out your stencil pdf on card stock or a stencil sheet and trace the scallops onto the felt sheets. We ended up using 11 scallops of each color, making a total of 33, but you may need more depending on your spacing when you make the wreath.

Step 2: Cut out the felt strips
Cut out the scallops and figure out what order you want the colors to appear on your wreath.

Step 3: Glue the felt onto the wreath
Leave the plastic on your wreath so that the straw doesn’t become loose and pick a spot on your wreath to start applying your felt scallop strips. Dab some hot glue on your wreath to place the first scallop strip on the wreath so that middle of the scallops is centered on your wreath.

Turn your wreath over and glue the end of the felt that is at the bottom of the wreath down first and then glue the top end on top of it. Make sure the felt is wrapped tightly around the wreath.

Layer the second scallop piece on top of the first piece, leaving about a ¾” gap and and repeat wrapping it and gluing it on the back of the wreath.

Step 4: Finalize the placement of the felt
When you are ready to glue your final piece, flip the scalloped edge of the first piece down over itself.

Glue the final felt piece down and flip the scalloped edge of the first piece back up over the straight edge of the final felt piece.

Step 5: Add some pizzaz to your wreath
Add ribbon and extra holiday themed goodies to customize it and you’re ready to hang it up!
