This DIY from our DIY contributor, Amanda of Anthomanic, is great for creating a bouquet that has a hidden water source! No need to worry about flowers wilting during portraits (especially weddings during the hot summer months!) as this bouquet holder will keep flowers fresh all day. Let’s see how it’s made…
Materials:
• gardening shears
• gold spray paint
• fresh floral bouquet holder *find from your local florist
• flowers of your choice (2 bunches red hanging amaranthus, 1 bunch jasmine vine, 1 bunch australian umbrella fern, 1 bunch chocolate cosmos
• 18″ square of fabric
• magnetic charm
• 2 yards of rope
Step One: Paint the ferns gold.
Step Two: Soak bouquet holder for five minutes, wrap with fabric square, add the magnetic charm, tie with rope. Adding hot glue will help the fabric hold in place.
Step Three: Cut flowers to about 2-5 inches in length and insert approximately 3/4 of an inch into the foam, starting with the thicker stems.
And you are done! Gorgeous right? This bouquet feels perfect for a Gatsby/Art Deco vibe…
