Shoshana + Sam went the extra mile to ensure their day was representative of them. This meant they worked closely with their vendor team (Julie Lundy Event Design, Longi Pie Shop + Garnish Bartending to name a few), handmade lots of elements, and crafted a setting that was a perfect blend of bohemian style and their Jewish heritage.
Shoshana adds, It was an organic process that unfolded over the course of 7 months. We started with the idea that we wanted an outdoor summer wedding, preferably by water. Once we nailed down the River Bend venue, we started by talking to vendors whose aesthetics we liked, and it all began to take shape from there. We wanted to take part in our wedding as opposed to having people do everything for us, so we brainstormed a lot, picked and chose from blogs and input from others, as well as found unexpected design inspiration in non-wedding related things (like a coffee package that ended up being our colors) and ultimately came up with something that reflected us.
Thanks so much to June Cochran for the gorgeous photos and congrats to Shoshana + Sam on such a beautiful day!
We love the pretty, vibrant florals by Lyon’s Farmette!
Shoshana: My most memorable moment was walking down the aisle, time literally slowed down.
Sam: Watching Shoshana walk down the aisle, the sight of it all and the emotions and thoughts during those moments.
Processional: Groom: Wait – M83; Bride: Rose – Ludovico Einauldi
Recessional: Genius of Love – Tom Tom Club
First Dance: To Love Somebody – The Bee Gees
Are these two not the cutest couple? We love these post-ceremony captures by June Cochran!

Eyeing these fun shibori table runners? They were a DIY project of Shoshana’s! Since she’s mastered the shibori skill set, she’s making + selling runners for other brides (or anyone who wants one for their home!). Email her at shoshana21{at}gmail{dot}com to purchase :)
Don't forget that DIY means you actually have to do it yourself. It takes a lot of time and energy! Plan early and take care of things early so that week leading up to the wedding isn't stressful. That said, it's way more fun to DIY than to pay someone to do it for you.
