A Romantic California Wedding: Carly + David

A Romantic California Wedding: Carly + David

This wedding screams romance to me – and I just love it! Carly is a true romantic, so Amorology wanted Carly + David’s summer wedding to be very soft and reflect the love the couple share for one another. They framed sweet quotes that Carly + David say to each other (“I love you to the moon and back”), as well as favorite romantic lyrics (“Love Me Tender”), and placed them among the guests’ dining tables. They also incorporated some Carly-isms wherever they could! “Bless your heart” was used on the drink flags and “Goodness gracious” was on the pie table. This really helped set the vibe, as well as the soft floral arrangements Twigg Botanicals created. Carly also loves the eclectic look, so they rented a bunch of vintage chairs from Archive Vintage Rentals for the guests’s tables, so that each table had a different look. This look was also carried over to the lounge area, which had mismatched furniture and pillows. Thanks so much to Jessica Claire for the super lovely photos!

It was really important to Carly + David to have an aspect of the wedding be interactive for the guests, so Amorology found a great silhouette artist that cut silhouettes by hand for all of the guests. Each guest received two silhouettes, one that they took home, and another that they left behind for the couple. They displayed the silhouettes on a table through out the night and the guests had a blast trying to guess each other’s!

From Amorology, As soon as Carly told us that her colors were oatmeal + blush, we began thinking up different ways we could weave the use of oatmeal through out the wedding – besides just the color palette! From floral centerpieces with oats at the bottom, to favors, to the oatmeal toss that showered the happy couple as they exited, we subtly incorporated oats wherever we could. Our favorite was indeed the oatmeal toss, where we handed guests tiny envelopes that read “Oat to Joy!” For the favors, the couple purchased oatmeal soaps that we wrapped in custom coordinating floral fabrics. These sat at each place-setting and greeted guests with a fun tag that read “Scrub a dub dub, thanks for showering us with your love!”

A Colorful Handmade Wedding: Cerissa + Chad

A Colorful Handmade Wedding: Cerissa + Chad

I just love happy and fun weddings and this one photographed by Brandon Kidd is just the sweetest! So perfect for a Monday, right?! Cerissa + Chad both love the golden age of California and the beach – so what else to do but add a seaside amusement feel to their California wedding. :) They also wanted to incorporate burlap + flowers which adds a raw fresh feel to the wedding – just like their love for each other. They found inspiration here on GWS and at Disney’s California Adventure’s Paradise Pier, which is made to look like an old seaside amusement park. Any idea or concept that they loved, they took and made their own. Such a beautiful + fun day you two! Congrats!!

From Chad, “If this wedding was going to represent Cerissa and I, it had to have the feeling of fun, love, detail, and there had to be something different to see at every corner. We wanted people to feel entertained from the very beginning. Thats why we had live entertainment at every location, a crossword puzzle, postcard, and build a burger card at the table, and photo booth at the reception. We never wanted a dull moment! We continued that feel with pictures of us all over, a video of our love story, and our grand entrance dance.”

dessert table

Our favorite detail was the sweets table. It was awesome, it had so much to offer and really represented us. It had our favorite cookies, pies, and cupcakes. Not to mention a little cake that was made of fresh strawberries and whipped cream. And we loved our personalized cake topper.

Our most memorable moment had to of been our grand entrance dance! It was a blast! Our bridal party nailed the routine we made them learn.. I will never forget sharing that moment with our close friends in front of our friends and family.

Any advice for those planning now? Give yourself plenty of time, and do as many creative ideas as you can. Do a project every weekend. Its also fun to do craft projects together. I found it fun to push the envelope, push our vendors to try and do new things, don’t let any one tell you no, and dont be afraid to ask. Make sure you are very organized before the wedding, so every detail is executed perfectly and you dont have anything to worry about the day of. And lastly do everything you want to do, try and make it happen, make it all about it you, and your love together. Its your day, and remember you only get one!

Such a gorgeous + fun couple!! Congrats to Cerissa + Chad!!

Fun + Stylish Circle Themed Wedding: Hanna + Randy

Fun + Stylish Circle Themed Wedding: Hanna + Randy

Hanna + Randy wanted a wedding that was upbeat yet comfortable, and infused multiple colors and a plethora of circle patterns that could bring some fun, funk, and style! Love it. :) They also wanted great food and had to incorporate their love for coffee with a coffee bar and signature drinks. They selected the The Casino San Clemente as their venue and the outdoor space was a perfect setting for their lovely ceremony. Lindye Galloway Events helped Hanna + Randy create a day that was uniquely them while Emily Blake Photography captured it all on film. Congrats to Hanna + Randy!

Lindye Galloway Events used Hanna + Randy’s inspiration to create multiple design elements unique to their day. On the fireplace at the ceremony, they created a cascading effect of color and circles using cross-stitch rings and colored coffee filters. This look was also mirrored in the reception. Hanna’s father built all those benches for the ceremony – gorgeous!

I love their “Notes to the Newlyweds” wall, again infusing their circle look. Guests would write a note on colored paper, roll it up and put it into the chicken wired tall frame to create a fun design.

sparkler exit

Favorite memory of the day? As a bride, my favorite memory of the night (as sappy as this may sound) was being hand in hand with my groom as we walked down the sparkler filled aisle of excited and supportive friends and families. I loved having everyone who has been a unique part of our lives join us to celebrate one of the biggest days of our lives, our marriage.

Advice you have for brides planning now? A piece of advice I would offer brides is to remember to keep your groom part of the whole wedding process. While he may not want to go to Michael’s two times a day, he probably still wants to be part of making your wedding as much making his wedding…and most importantly being able to look back on “our” wedding.
