Welcome back! You did catch Part 1 of Sarah + Leigh’s wedding in the Canadian mountains, right? ‘Cause we’re onto Part 2 – their amaze reception – filled with tons of creative DIY details + some pretty epic post-wedding portraits by Phil Chester!
This artful duo made sure to keep the aesthetic true to their style, designing their day with Aztec patterns (Sarah’s fave) and bright pops of color. For couples who share S + L’s modern design sense, be sure pin a thing or two and don’t miss our curated shopping guide a bit later in the post!
Again with that Hayley Paige dress! In love…
Remember we mentioned Leigh designed all of the print material for the wedding? Well, his amazing work carried through to the reception + we’re loving every last work of art!
Sarah + Leigh handcrafted so much of what you see here – color us impressed (in teal, orange + green please!). To get a similar look with less DIY grunt work, shop their wedding with our camp guide below:
A S’mores bar with a mountain view was a must!
Sarah: Decide exactly what you want to do for your wedding and make a plan for when you want to finish things by. I made a monthly schedule for when I wanted to complete all of my diy-ing. This really helped me get everything I wanted to get done without too much stress.
Also the biggest thing was to remember when everything gets over whelming you can always look at your plan and move things around so you can de-stress for a month or until your ready to rock again.
Leigh: Sarah did most of the leg work planning and crafting as she had a vision and I wanted to help her achieve that. As a designer I started out with building a nice palette of colors that would work for the day and designed all of the print. This a great way to establish the style you’re going for and you will find that a lot of the decor and details will evolve from this. Think about color, theme, location and how it will all tie together and then go out and find some inspiration and get crafting.

Wow, you can’t ask for a better location. The color combination with the teal and orange is beautiful and I love the idea with the arrows!
Really love all the stationary at the reception, really cute colour palate and the arrows are adorable!
May I know who’s your wedding photographer? He really knows how to capture moments at perfect angles. The first image in this post is really lovely. And the shot in the middle of the road with mountains at the background is really cool! Rustic weddings are really nice since you’re just a step closer to nature. Hong kong wedding planners should always think that way when coming up with theme wedding.
This is by far the most unique and adorable wedding I’ve seen!
Fantastic photo !
Great wedding session.
