California Handmade Wedding: Sandy + Jon

bride and groom

Sandy + Jon wanted their wedding day to be fun with tons of details that reflect the two of them. They love good food and that is where their inspiration came from – my kind of couple for sure! :) The big question for them was: what kind of food did they want to have at their wedding? Well, Jon always wanted to do a BBQ wedding with lots of other snacks + desserts so that is what they decided to do! They picked Phil’s BBQ (since it was a usual spot for them while they were dating) and the rest of the wedding unraveled from there! Sandy loves details also, so they included lots of sweet ones into their day such as the brown-bagged beers (what they drank on their first date), food booths (that Jon built himself!) and cute signs saying his and hers for all their food + activities. So fun! Congrats to Sandy + Jon and thanks to Sloan Photographers for the photos and to CCL Wedding for the planning + design!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

There were two amazing moments for the both of us. Our first look was incredibly special. Seeing each other a few hours before we were husband and wife was priceless. Secondly, the same-day edit video by studio205 wrapped the entire day beautifully. Guests sat around us as we witnessed the entire day unfold on a screen. It made the wedding complete.

Our wedding was the best day of our lives! Thank you to all our vendors, family, and friends for making the day so special for us. We are forever grateful.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Hire a coordinator. Better yet, hire my coordinator. Catherine was AMAZING. She made everything possible. I was often scared to do some of the DIY but she handled everything effortlessly. Meet and hire vendors you genuinely want to work with. This made everything so easy for us. We knew right away to hire Sloan Photographers because we felt like they were our good friends. We wanted to hang out with them all day! Also, HAVE FUN! Don't be so serious about the day. Relax and enjoy the entire process.
