If the title for today’s real wedding feature perplexed you a little bit, allow us just a minute to explain! Aly + Campbell love Scandinavian-inspired simplicity + clean lines as much as the rest of the world seems to at the moment, but they also love a good pop of color and textures like ceramics, tiles, etc.! By blending those two very different design directions, they were able to come up with a totally unique wedding style that was unique to them!
Aly + Campbell’s heritage + background tell us even more about what inspired their day. Aly says, I had previously lived in Spain, which I think inspired my love for pattern, tiles and color. Campbell lived in the Czech Republic, and loves anything that’s old worldy. He’s sweet as can be and trusted me with the design, and he was a huge help with all the big tasks I gave him including building our own dance floor.
Thanks so much to Sitting in a Tree for the gorgeous design and to Studio Castillero for the equally stellar photos!
Such a pretty first look location in the California orange groves!
Aly carried a gorgeous, neutral white + green bouquet and the bridesmaids held bright bundles of bougainvillea, all crafted by siren floral co. It was a perfect nod to their juxtaposing inspiration styles!
Aly: Definitely walking down the aisle with my dad. I didn’t think I would get as emotional as I would watching everyone smiling at me and having those special last moments as daddy’s little girl. It was amazing seeing all of my favorite faces look at me with sheer joy, and it was so meaningful to see everyone supporting, loving and encouraging us all at once. I really felt the love.
Campbell: Dinner time; it was nice to sit down, relax, and have some food. We placed my family in one long row to our left, and Aly’s family in one long row to the right. Then, we sat at the head of one long row of our friends down the middle. I loved having the best view and watching our families and friends enjoying the food and conversations amongst one another. It was a time to pause with Aly and observe the friends and family members who love and support us as well as seeing all the details and planning come together. Pausing made us realize that this is our special day, and it’s important to enjoy these moments with the people we love.

Enjoy the process. we made sure to schedule our planning nights and our date nights. I think it kept us sane to make sure we had date nights where we could get really excited about all the details, then date nights where we could focus on life and forget about the details. Also, I would say trust your wedding vendors. They’re pros at their jobs, and they’ll deliver amazing work if you give them room to be creative and do what they do best. I adored my vendors and I would choose all of them everyday.
