Bright Orange Paint Splatter + Forest-Inspired Wedding

Modern Paint Splatter Wedding

Erin + Chris share a love of the outdoors, their giant group of friends and the color orange. When meeting with planner Lynzie of Love By Lynzie Events + Design they told her with a giggle, “We secretly wish we could be friends with bears and live in an orchard. We want you to design something wild!” At that point, Lynzie thought she had died and gone to wedding planner heaven! She shares I knew I wanted the wedding to have a huge nature, forest like element with overgrown flowers and wild greens. Then we found out we could paint the venue walls (the venue is a film studio – District 28 in Toronto, Canada and it gets repainted every night) and all off a sudden the three of us become obsessed with the idea of incorporating paint splatter into the design.

The team painted a huge paint splatter mural on the ceremony room wall, hung a floral chandelier brimming with greens and orange flowers, decorated the ceiling with over 2000 feet of ribbon and more. Erin + Chris were so thrilled with how the room came together, that they cried when they saw it!

The couple shares We wanted the day to be intensely heartfelt and inclusive, and we thought the best way to do that would be to try and bring our family and friends into our world. From the get-go, we wanted this to be a celebration that showed our gratitude to all our friends and family for what they had contributed to our crazy long relationship (we’ve been dating since high school). We included friends and family in the design and experience of the day – from them crafting our signature cocktail to painting a wall mural, to having an artist literally write all their names on the wall!

Are you as excited as we are to see the rest?! Let’s take a look at all the pretty photographed by Sara Monika!

The couple shares We decided to do our first look completely in private (meaning no photos!) – there is so much building to it and so much you want to say, that truly, you can only say with your eyes in that moment. It’s fast and it’s all a bit much, but having a private huddle that was just between us was more meaningful than anything.

How gorgeous is that set up?! Mismatched woodland + farmhouse chairs in shades of brown were used in order to add to the forest feeling.

The name mural with calligraphy by Catherine Cachia!! E + C found countless ways to honor and incorporate their loved ones. In addition to the name mural, they had another friend create an art piece which placed behind the head table (the tree), another friend created a custom cocktail inspired by his take on their relationship, and yet another friend sing and play guitar down the aisle. How cool is that?

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

The most unforgettable moment was right before we first entered the reception room as a married couple - watching our wedding party start a conga line into the room (to the Austin Powers theme song!), knowing the minute they did that, all our favorite people were in one place together at the same time, was so overwhelming and so thrilling all at the same time!

Would you take a look at that ceiling… LOVE!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Work with people you connect with. There's so many talented people in the industry, and in their midst is a remarkable group who will bring your day to life as if it were their own. You'll know it when you meet them, which is how we found an awesome caterer (Lauren) who made us feel like family/celebrities, a photographer (Sara) who seemed like she'd known us for years and a planner + designer (Lynzie!!) who saw the best in us and made it cooler.
