Today’s adorable duo, Claudia + David, have a deep love + appreciation for music, history, and their hometown of Los Angeles! So naturally, their carefree + elegant DIY wedding reflected those fun aspects of their relationship, along with so much more. The paper goods from this super fun fête are some of the raddest we’ve seen in a while! We’ll let Claudia share a bit about those in just a sec, but first let’s hear a bit about their venue + overall inspiration for the day:
I had attended an industry party over a decade ago at the Hotel Figueroa and the imagery there always stuck with me. As soon as David saw the overgrown lush bohemian vibe of Hotel Fig, we knew it was totally us. The hotel has a Moroccan feel and before the wedding we booked a trip to Morocco and explored the country for 10 days getting more excited for the now fast approaching wedding. I was lucky in that I got to plan every little detail and the day was sprinkled with bits and pieces of tradition, symbolism and lucky Irish magic! We didn’t want a wedding that felt stiff, uncomfortably formal or impersonal. And since we host a lot of parties for our friends, we wanted our wedding to have the same relaxed + elegant feeling.
Big thanks to Yuna Leonard for the gorgeous images + congratulations to C + D on a beautiful day!
Loving these right?! Here’s what Claudia has to say:
For our Save the Date + Thank You cards we splurged and used Minted. The quality was absolutely fantastic and a nice STD really sets the right tone for the wedding. I worked with L A Xpress Printing to make our invitations. I used inspiration from examples from boutique letterpress printers and had a friend teach me Adobe Illustrator to build the files. The 4” dye cut record, which served as our RSVP card, was a big hit and paid homage to my husband’s musical roots. And for our programs, I decided to print at home and fell in love with the petit program, (3×5”) an idea I saw on MarthaStewart.com. I liked that you could put it in your pocket or purse and save it!

Ok, so I love the stationery! No to mention how awesome her tats look – and then that cute little guy in the yellow boy tie. TOTALLY reminds me of a Pinket-Smith! xx
1. That venue space makes my heart flutter. Exquisite! I want my home to look like that!
2. MOBY?! They had MOBY for a wedding DJ? I want to be these people.
Claudia and David are such awesome, creative, crazy-talented people. Thank you for featuring their wedding!
It’s hard to believe that this is a hotel! Wow!! What a beautiful wedding!
What a beautiful wedding. Hotel Figueroa looks like such an amazing place. Love the little army of flower girls.
I love the Hotel Figueroa! The church is also beautiful. I probably missed it but what church is that?
