Best of 2012: Engagement Photos

We are ending our Best of 2012 features today with my favorite engagement sessions from 2012! Engagement sessions are such a great opportunity to get some amazing photos of the two of you and practice being in front of the camera as well as spending time with your photographer. And since late winter/early spring are the most popular time for engagement sessions, I think these might help inspire some ideas for your own! I love that each of these couples made their shoot unique to them whether it was the location, the use of a prop and/or their choice of attire!

feather bolero

This stylish couple created an ultra romantic session in a field. Captured gorgeously by Meg Perotti, I love that they had two locations to their shoot. And don’t you just love her feather bolero?!

lee dewyze

American Idol winner Lee DeWyze met his girl Jonna while filming a music video, so of course they used a piano as a prop in their Sweet Musical Engagement Session photographed by Marianne Wilson since their relationship all started with music!

canoe engagement

Simple + beautiful engagement photos with a canoe photographed by Julie Harmsen.

holi powder

This engagement session with holi powder is literally exploding with color + fun all thanks to Benj Haisch who capture the couple’s personality and character so well!

vw engagement

This sweet couple love camping and being outdoors, so they used lots of fun props and a VW bus to show their personality together! Check out their VW Van Engagement Session photographed by AK Studio & Design for more on their amazing story together.

outdoor kitchen

Jillian + Marcus love spending time in the kitchen – so they brought the kitchen outside for their Outdoor Kitchen Engagement Shoot photographed by Dave Lapham! Love Jillian’s Anthropologie apron and their flour fight!

20s engagement

This Twenties Inspired Engagement Session really brought the glamour! Photographed by Eric Kelley Photography.

early morning engagement

A bright and early morning engagement session photographed by Nessa K Photography created a romantic vibe for this couple’s photos!

coney island

Coney Island was the perfect location for this fun couple’s engagement photos photographed by Jen Huang.

castle engagement

With a great location (like a castle in Ireland) and a good photographer (Kristen Booth) – you don’t need much else for gorgeous photos!

flower boat

This couple decorated a boat and filled it with flowers! Such a creative way to infuse their love of sailing away together. Styled and photography by Wildflowers Photography.
