Beautiful covered stones

I was browsing through flickr and found this photo of a stone covered in lace. I thought it was so simple and stunning. It was linked to a blog called resurrection fern – so I went to check it out. Wow…. The author creates stones covered in lace, felt, farbic, and then photographs them in nature. Really beautiful photos. I think these stones could make a great alternative to a centerpiece. Below are some samples of different ways to arrange them. This would be a really unique table set-up – sure for lots of conversation and you or your guests could keep the beautiful stones. I see this for an outdoors wedding or a beach wedding. , the author, posts lots of tutorials foa ll kinds of things – some simple, some more complex. Here she shows you how to make felt stones. You could make them your wedding colors and place in a shallow wooden bowl or on some sand.

Another idea – my nephew (who is 5 years old) picked up a stone from our ceremony site – so we could remember it (how adorable is that!?) I was planning to paint it, but now I am thinking I might try to cover it – maybe paint the date on also. Once I decide what I’m going to do, I will post it!

Please check out her gorgeous blog also – resurrection fern – lots of inspiration from nature.
