You may remember Brea from her engagement session which I featured here. The super talented Clayton Austin just sent me her bridal session. It is stunning! Some words about it from Clayton,
“Ever since Brea was a little girl she had dreamed of one day being married in her own mothers beautiful wedding gown. However, as she grew older and began planning her own special day she realized that deep down she wanted the opportunity to create memories of her own. So, she settled for the next best thing. The amazing hat that Brea is wearing was actually made from the tulle from her mother’s dress!! How beautifully ridiculous is that?? Brea said she “threw it together” the previous evening with a little help from her somewhat emotional mother. Secondly, Brea’s beloved grandmother Tobia passed away this last year. Tobia is Yiddish for dove and Brea chose to pay a special homage to Grandmother Tobia with the release of a white dove ( who I affectionately named Sam for some reason).”
I love the sequence with the dove – and that bouquet – very perfect for fall! Thanks so much Clayton for sending us this beautiful session and lovely story. You can see lots more from the session on Clayton’s Blog.
BEAUTIFUL! Can the bride share where she foudn the birdcage? I LOVE IT!
Very cool! The first two are amazing.
OMG I had this same idea for my bridal session (birdcage with bird/artsy) Thank you for posting – now I can show my photographer examples of what I was thinking about doing.

Beautiful, evocative photography!LOVE IT!! Love the Bride's whole vibe.
The look and story behind that wedding hat is lovely and that birdcage is very cool.
Wow. Truly stunning!
Gorgeous!!
Love it : )
Breathtaking bridal photography! Love the veil.
OH man, my head exploded from that sweet birdcage, the killer hairpiece and the dove. Perfectly delightful.
Im just so madly in love with this post. So many reasons/images but something that really stands out for me is the veil that was made from her mom's dress. I am in love with it. Can i borrow it?
These are amazing! How are these effects achieved? Wondering if some of them were taken on film, or if this was all post production? Did he do all these with photo shop? I wish I lived in Cali!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't use doves! Use white pigeons. Doves can't survive when let go!!!!
Hi Anoymous! You are right and thank you for your concern. In this case the "Dove" was actually what is commonly known as a "homing pigeon" and was specifically bred for ceremonial release. For all who are inspired by this session homing pigeons should be used.
Thanks Clayton! Great info to know.
Wow, gorgeous! Love the doves!
Beautiful photography… may I ask if there was a 'husband' involved in the ceremony?! Seems to be keeping a low profile!!
Anonymous- This was a bridal session :). In some parts of the country, brides will do a portrait session with just them and their dress. It's a chance to try out their hairstyle and dress and get some great photos to share with their honey. :)
I did also feature their engagement session, check it out here: http://www.greenweddingshoes.com/2009/08/some-vintage-love-at-train-track.html
thanks!
I LOVE IT!!! This is me, in 5-10 years ;)
