Like any creative, cool, stylish couple, Ali + Jerry wanted something unique and never-before-done for their elopement. She had the dress – a sexy little lace number that Ali designed herself, Chuy Photography was on board to capture the day, all that remained was the perfect location! And, after a bit of searching, Chuy found it: Pisgah Crater, an old volcanic cinder cone just a few miles south of historic Route 66.
We asked Ali why they decided to elope and she filled us in on the details:
Our entire relationship and experience together has been very exclusive and intimate, and we wanted our elopement to reflect that. We got married after living together for about 5 months. Before that, we spent many months living a 2.5 hour drive away. Most of our lives together felt like a dream, then. We’d get our day-to-day out of the way and then set aside a few days a week to stay together. We made the absolute most out of those: hiking, exploring, trying new foods, new wine, and spending nights on the beach. We knew the real test awaited when we finally merged our life of adventure with our day-to-day. In those 5 months living together, our love grew even greater. We saw the best and worst of one another, had good and bad, and, somewhere along the line, realized we wouldn’t want to spend another night apart.
Let’s have a look at the smokin’ images by Chuy Photography!
Isn’t her dress totally stunning?? Ali founded Meowzing Intimates and designs beautiful lingerie, created specifically to make women feel confident in their own skin. So when it came to designing her dress, you can bet she made every effort to tailor it to her own fashion!
How great is his look? Seriously loving A + J’s couple style.
In Style Blooms created a beautiful desert bouquet and detailed flourishes to match.
No celebration, great or small, should be without cake, and Lizzie’s Bakery whipped up a lovely one for just the occasion!
Southern Scribe‘s lovely script on black echoed the day’s theme.
Honestly, how beautiful are these shots?!
Looking for some elopement advice?
Make the day about yourselves. It’s your big day and if anyone has reservations about excluding a wedding party, there’s plenty of time to celebrate with your loved ones later. The day is about you two and a celebration of your love.
Hats off to that! Many congrats to A + J!
