With the Royal Wedding only a day away, I thought some gorgeous regal inspiration would be perfect for today. Stunning photos by the always lovely Elizabeth Messina and planned by Merryl Brown Events, I hope it helps you dream up A Royal Affair!
A bit behind the shoot from Merryl of Merryl Brown Events,
“I have always been very drawn to old world, understated elegance. I have long collected antiques, vintage linens, silverware, glassware and porcelain. Jason of Small Masterpiece shares my love and his collection of Haviland Limoges porcelain, vintage American pressed glass, heirloom silver and gorgeous antique linen allows me to do large scale events and still achieve the look that I love to create when doing smaller events. These tabletops are elegant, regal and unique; most importantly, they are very memorable. They look as if someone’s family heirlooms were used; it is a very different look then other rental options. I wanted to show a look that was classic and traditional, but also fresh and lovely. I did not want anything to look trendy or contrived. It was, for me, a return to the old school, Emily Post way of doing things, with a modern twist!”
Thanks so much to everyone involved + hope this helps inspire those of you looking for a more regal look!

That Claire Pettibone dress is amazing!
Thank you all for such wonderful comments! It was a lot of fun producing this shoot and especially working with the amazing Elizabeth Messina! Those shoes that have been mentioned above are Manolo Blahniks that the owner of the estate that we shot at loaned to us for the shoot (and then gave to lucky Elizabeth!!!) Aren’t they gorgeous?! The Claire Pettibone dress was to die for, as was her headdress in the top right photo.
EEEEEEEEE! I am so excited you posted more photos! I came back for a second look and am SO glad I did!! Thank you so much…I love it even more now!
