Happy New Year lovelies! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break and I’m so excited to get back to sharing lots of gorgeous wedding inspiration this week – and year! We have lots of fun things in store for Green Wedding Shoes this year, so we are super excited to welcome in 2012 here at GWS!
Let’s start the new year off with this beautiful and romanic Texas wedding photographed by The Nichols. Jessa + Brian aren’t overly formal people, so they knew they wanted their wedding to be comfortable and fun; simple, yet elegant. They only followed traditions that made sense to them and only incorporated things they absolutely loved and I just love that their wedding was an authentic reflection of them. The event design + gorgeous florals are by Liz of The Nouveau Romantics who did a lovely job styling the day based all around Jessa + Brian!
The walk down the aisle was probably the most memorable moment of the day. It’s difficult to describe the feeling that comes over you in that moment, but it’s pretty incredible. The stress, the nerves, it all melted away. I was just happy to be marrying the man of my dreams in the company of all our favorite people.
Processional: Can’t Help Falling in Love With You by Ingrid Michaelson
Recessional: Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours) by Stevie Wonder
First Dance: You Got What I Need by Joshua Radin
One of my favorite details of the wedding day was our cake topper from Ready Go Paper Studio. Our dogs are a huge part of our life so we wanted to incorporate them into the day somehow. I was ecstatic when I found Ready Go. The pet topper is a custom drawing of your pet. The likeness to our dogs was incredible and a portion of the proceeds go to a local animal shelter.
Enjoy the day. Seriously. I know it’s what everybody says, but it’s such a special time and it goes by incredibly fast. Cherish every moment of it. Also, try to make room in your budget for a good photographer and videographer. It’s money well spent. I read that advice somewhere when I was planning our wedding and I am glad I took it. You’ll be surprised at how much you actually miss on the day of and how fast it goes by. It’s been fun to re-live all the moments through our photographs and video.
Be sure to also check out their beautiful highlight trailer from Vanessa McKellar Productions. I love that everything was shot on vintage 8mm film – it’s just so sweet…
Big congrats to Jessa + Brian!

What charming colors! The wedding has a relaxed and intimate feel to it. It’s easy to tell that the bride and groom were having a great time.
What a lovely wedding, great use of back lighting by the photographer
Like the grey bridesmaids dresses and the pumpkins as ceremony decor.
Thank you, GWS, for starting the year off with one of our favorite weddings!
Thanks for featuring Jessa and Brian’s beautiful wedding! We had such a great time putting this together for the two of them. Vanessa McKellar’s video is really the icing on the cake!
beautiful wedding ! I love this centerpieces, are so sweet
Another fabulous job by Nouveau Romantics. Definitely one to keep an eye on!
nice blog. Happy new year to everyone from Italy!
Beautiful pictures and Wedding! Love it!
Beautiful wedding! Where can I find the song featured in the trailer?
I love the cake topper…what a sweet idea!
We were so happy to be a part of this amazing wedding! Thanks to Brian and Jessa to trusting us, and to the other uber talented vendors.
@Ruby, the song is “At Home” by Crystal Fighters.
So pretty. I love all the simple details.
Love all the stationery – the escort cards add a great pop of colour!
dancing slowly under starlight in a cashmere cardigan, pulling close to your lover and reveling in the perfectness of the moment…
That shot captured the moment perfectly :)
Jessa must have felt like a princess – and she sure looked the part! Her hair and her dress look so good.
The bouquets (both Jessa’s and her bridesmaids’) and the cake topper are my favorite!
this may be one of my favorites ever on the site! i love everything about it.
This whole wedding is so adorable… Her dress is gorgeous, I love the streamers, the watercolor invitations are to die for, beautiful photography… I could go on and on!
Oh! That streamer background! Is it made out of material rather than paper? We were thinking of doing something similar- it’s such a standout, pretty backdrop! What a lovely wedding!
The color palette of this wedding is one of my favorite! Love the incorporation of white mini pumpkins the centerpieces..so pretty.
@Em — the ceremony backdrop was strips of linen and cotton fabric. Much easier to get a custom color combo, as paper streamers definitely come in a much smaller palette! (Not to mention they needed to be about 15′ tall!)
@Liz: Thanks! We actually started dying strips of cotton today in our own colours, so I think we’ll be going down that route! Having designed our invites myself using a colour gradient throughout, we’re incorporating that in, too. It’s kind of like tie-dye for grown-ups. ;)
Jessa- I bought the same dress a few weeks ago. I LOVE IT! You look beautiful. I was wondering how much of it you cut off. Your alterations are perfect. Did you end up bustling it at all?
@Colleen: Thanks! I cut almost all of the train off (not sure of the exact amount; we cut until it felt manageable and looked right which ended up being most of it). This was a must for me as my wedding was completely outdoor (and I was going for a less formal look). No bustle was needed after the train was removed. Good luck! You will love wearing it!
Jessa, can you tell me which Enzoani dress you have? It’s so beautiful.
@Ammber: The dress is Enzoani Fatima
The bride looks so happy and beautiful. The photos convey emotions.
Hi Jessa, you wedding was beautiful! I actually have the same dress and have been debating cutting off the train. It just seems like it will be so much easier to move without it. Can you tell me if you took out any layers of tule as well?
Thanks, Laura! I wish I could tell you for sure, but I just told the tailor I wanted the train shortened. I think she said something about having to take apart the skirt and I know there was a lot of leftover tulle… For me, getting rid of the train was one of the best decisions I made. It’s a lot of dress even without it. Good luck and I hope that helps!
Jessa, I live in Austin and actually just ordered the same dress yesterday from Blush! I was looking for ways of taking off the long train when I came across your BEAUTIFUL wedding! Can you tell me who tailored your dress? Thanks!
Beautiful. Love all details, bride´s hair, specially.
Such a fun wedding! I love how much it reflects this fun couple. Adorable!
Beautiful photos and amazing lighting. What a gorgeous setting. Congrats to the happy couple.
