With a wedding crafted around color + music, a super creative couple, and a theme of “Sounds Like Love” – we simply had to share!! Chelsea + Tyler don’t just LOVE music, but they live it and breath it; in fact, they have a business where they create colorful sound wave art! Their shared passion served as the inspiration for the whole wedding and with a team of creatives to help, they truly turned the day into a symphony of sounds.
The bride, Chelsea, shares Tyler grew up creating and producing music and I spend a lot of time listening to music and going to shows. After being together for a few years, our passions intertwined and we ended up starting a side project called SoundViz, where we turn sound into art. When we were thinking about inspiration for our wedding there was no question that we wanted our love for sound to shine through in all the details.
Several genius ideas went into play: old music tapes with handwritten calligraphy served as the escort cards; a sound wave backdrop (of their first dance song) made from guitar strings was used as their photo backdrop; their vows were crafted out of lyrics from their favorite songs + way, way more. Some seriously cool stuff went down in Del Mar, California, thanks to the designer + planner, Amorology.
Let’s see all of the cool details, photographed by Fondly Forever!
Reminiscent of music videos from the 80s, Arelor and created a rockin’ invitation suite.
Siren Floral Co. crafted the most beautiful bouquet with a stunning seaside + sunset palette: peachy pinks, soft blue, golden yellow and a hint of fiery orange.
Coincidence that Chelsea’s colorful sound wave tattoo matches the florals + wedding palette? We think not. :) Also, how GORGE is her dress by Rue de Seine?!
Look at that line-up!! You all are smokin’!
Isn’t she stunning? And look at that super cool bowtie he’s sporting!
We’re ALL ABOUT a good pair of funky socks.
How pretty is that aisle with all the leafy greenery?
There was a beautiful hedge maze on the property that was overlooking the Pacific Ocean. During cocktail hour we had old-school hip-hop playing from an old boom box we painted gold and asked our guests to follow the beat to find their way… As a “reward” for making it to the top of the maze, there were Fireball shots (one of our faves) for everyone. We thought it would be a fun touch, but we had no idea it was going to turn into a mini-party before the reception started. We have some really special memories from that maze since it was the first time we were able to see our friends and family with some of our favorite music playing in the background.
“Suddenly all of the songs are about you,” is that adorable or what? All the pretty calligraphy was done by Betlem Calligraphy.
Fresh tacos from Soho Taco were served on terra-cotta plates as the guests looked out onto the Pacific Ocean.
That tablescape!!
As a couple, write down everything the two of you want on your wedding day. This could be anything from what kind of cake to whether or not you want a photo booth. Don’t let anyone else see or give their opinion on this list before you prioritize and have it only be about you two! Rank everything from most important to least important. This will give you a good idea of where to spend money and energy and where to cut back.
That unbelievable view!! It definitely sounds like love to us… Congrats Chelsea + Tyler!
