A Handmade Garden Wedding: Hallie + Luke

bride and groom

Hallie + Luke attended 21 weddings in the last 3 years (wow!), so once they became engaged they already knew exactly what type of wedding they wanted. They really just wanted to throw a big bash that their family + friends would have a blast at with the theme “True Love is a Big Deal”. Planning started at a quick pace for them as they had the venue – The Dana-Powers House – and date picked within 24 hours. Hallie is a graphic designer, so she knew she wanted to create a lot of the elements herself, but made sure to hire a planner (Alana from Love Me Simple) to handle the little details and set up for the day. Big thanks also to Cameron Ingalls for all the photos + congrats to Hallie + Luke!

Love the wooden sign they hung above the ceremony space with their motto – True Love is a Big Deal – that Luke’s Papa made.

From Hallie, We were fortunate to have the help of our family and friends who made so many details for the day: Luke’s Papa crafted a large wooden sign to hang over the gazebo, my Grandpa made our money tree out of manzanita branches, numerous aunts grandmothers and mothers made pies for our desserts, and my mom made an incredible topiary out of succulents for our escort cards. Everything was a big hit the day of the wedding, people most enjoyed the fabric flower corsages and boutonnieres we provided, the lounge area for our reception and our custom printed pint glass favors with cotton candy.

Although in the end I think everyone’s favorite detail came long before the wedding, when we sent out our save the dates with an underwater engagement photo. The day was beautiful and went as smoothly as any wedding could go.
