There is something magical to me about air plants! I asked Carissa of JL Designs to put together a bouquet + boutonniere made of only air plants to use as inspiration – which I just love! Air plants need no soil because water and nutrients are absorbed through the leaves – pretty rad, right? The other cool thing about a bouquet made of air plants – it lasts much longer than a bouquet of fresh flowers! So you can look at your bouquet for years to come – gotta love that! All airplant photos are by Gabriel Ryan Photographers and the two lovely bride photos are by Elizabeth Messina.
If you are looking to add air plants to your wedding, be sure to check out the Air Plant Supply Company! They offer a great selection of air plants.
Shhhhh…don’t tell everybody! I’m using all tillandisas for my bouquet and decor. They are sustainable, usually raised here in the U.S., so you’re supporting farmers, and the biggest bonus is my giant tillandsia xerographica will be turned into a centerpiece for my home long after my celebration. And all of my guests are getting an airplant in their gift bag. It’s a very green and unique choice. Thank goodness you didn’t source my supplier!
haha, too funny Christi.
I’m sure you get these requests all the time but could you be so kind as to identify the dress in the bottom left picture. LOVE it!
Mitchell- It’s by Ivy and Aster :)
