Today’s lovely editorial shows us a darker approach to a spring wedding, thanks to the planning + design team at ModFete. Conceptualized by photographer (and newlywed!), Ashley, of Photography Anthology, the goal of the shoot was to bring to life the complexity of emotions of a wedding day. Ashley shares, There are moments of laughter and slow moments of affection and contemplation that come with this lifelong commitment. Think of a beautiful rainy spring day where the clouds are dark, but the vegetation is lush and the flowers are in full bloom…
Katelyn of ModFete not only helped Ashley bring her vision to life, but she also crafted the beautiful florals for the setting. We’re big fans of this jasmine, clematis + hellebore bouquet, and wait ’til you get a closer look at the climbing vine ceremony site!
The ceremony backdrop featured an asymmetrical dogwood arch + mismatched seating from A Darling Day. So pretty!
Ashley says, This venue is to die for. It is in Taylors Mill in South Carolina and is currently being refinished and will be ready to rent for weddings soon– it is definitely going to be a hot wedding venue! In the same property is a coffee shop called Due South Coffee that provided us with a hand-crafted specialty coffee drink with espresso, sweetened condensed milk, mulled berries, and steamed milk; this is a great substitute for a signature cocktail if you don’t want to serve alcohol at your wedding.
Thank you to the talented team below for sharing their unique take on a spring wedding today!
