Bohemian Wedding at the Parker Palm Springs: Erica + Steven

Palm Springs Wedding

When Erica + Steven were dreaming up the vibe for their wedding day, they knew they wanted a black tie bohemian affair, which really reflected the style of their venue, The Parker Palm Springs in Palm Springs, California. Their ultimate goal was to have a wedding that felt like a large, beautiful outdoor dinner party. In fact, Erica spills, We wanted the “un-wedding.”

To make it happen, E + S enlisted the services of Hello Gem – who tackled the event design, planning and florals – and much of the inspiration for the design came from their own personal styles + taste in interior decor. Erica says, I’m super into marbles, woods and metals mixed together – when we noticed the floor of the ballroom foyer was marble (the room that would be our dance floor) I knew we had found our location. We were able to accent the glamour of the marble with the long wood farm tables on the grass, with gold touches throughout – a look that was also emulated in our wedding invitations. This remained a constant theme throughout, and once we introduced all of the boho intricacies … it became this perfect blend of California laid-back modern, with just a TOUCH of old-school Hollywood (after all, it IS Palm Springs!)

Thanks so much to Nick Radford for the captures below + big congrats to Erica + Steven!

Ericas love of marbles, woods and metals mixed together really came to play at the reception, where 140 of the couples closest friends + family members dined at stylish communal tables. Overhead, greenery draped from the bistro lights.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Not to sound cliche, but all of it. If I HAD to pick... I'm going to have to be cliche again and say our first-dance... I looked around and everyone was crying! It was powerful!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Book your vendors early, which is really the most important thing, and then just relax until it's REALLY time to get into details. Don't go nuts over details so early out - there's no need for it. The wedding is great, but the engagement lasts a lot longer - so enjoy it. Don't look at it like it's this stressful thing... you're getting married! It's exciting! Bask in it! Oh, and get planners... they'll stress out over the little things for you.
