A Midsummer Night’s Dream Inspired Wedding: Alicia + Kirk

Midsummer Nights Dream Wedding

Today’s wedding is a true work of art. The inspiration was A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and it was true to that theme in every way! All the guests wore white, the floral arrangements were chock-full of deep, rich hues + delectable fruit, the ceremony was in a fern madden redwood grove and the reception carried out in a stunning barn decorated with lush greenery + a crescent moon photo booth. Alicia + Kirk thought of lots of little ways to infuse their creativity into the setting, and by teaming up with Colette Cuccia Wedding and Event Design no detail or idea was off-limits.

Alicia tells us more, I always thought I would elope, or have a courthouse wedding, but my husband and family had a different vision, so really the only place I could see us having this grand party was at The Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel, CA. This place is pure magic. Both Kirk and I LOVE spending time there, it’s 20,000 acres of paradise.

Thanks so much to Sun and Life Photography for the gorgeous photos + big congrats to Alicia + Kirk!

Alica handmade an animal mask for every guest, which gave the reception visual impact right away and made for a fun dance party later on!

A + K close with, Everybody said it goes by fast, too fast, and they were right. We were lucky enough to have our Wedding party up a day earlier, before rehearsal, all of us were staying on the grounds at the Santa Lucia Preserve, which gave us a chance to relax and catch up with friends before the crazy of the wedding. We lounged at the pool, drank margaritas, went down the water slide (there is a great water slide at the Preserve) and soaked up the last of the summer sun. My parents hosted a wonderful dinner for all of us up at their house that Thursday before the wedding activities, it was also one of the Groomsmen’s birthday’s so we celebrated in a BIG way. Looking back we are so grateful we were able to have that time. All of our best friends staying in one place laughing, sharing meals, drinking great tequila and spending quality time with each other. I knew the next 2 days would fly by and by having a day and evening with our wedding party was a special treat.

Thanks, you two, for sharing your beautiful day with us!
