Free-Spirited Fall Vow Renewal

anniversary shoot

With tomorrow being Thanksgiving, what better way to get in the holiday spirit than with a super lovely fall vow renewal, brimming with pretty ideas for fall brides or last minute holiday decor! Captured by Frenzel Studios, this editorial is full of fun, homespun details that would be easy to recreate for your own celebration. Think birch branch wreaths repurposed as plate chargers and lovely pinecone-filled cloche dome centerpieces, just to name a few! And I’m totally smitten with the lovely fall-inspired floral design, which incorporates some unexpected elements like cotton seed pods + pheasant feathers. Here’s a bit more from Jessica + Luke, who celebrated their first anniversary right around the time of the shoot:

Our shoot was a cool opportunity for me to think about my wedding with a different theme and atmosphere, utilizing the gorgeous property at Cedarwood. We created a beautifully romantic, autumnal and intimate setting in the wild grasses of the nature preserve; it felt like we had run away in late October to elope in a secluded, grassy field in the Irish countryside!  Luke and I had so much fun feeling like newlyweds again and will treasure these memories and photos forever.

A Retro Woodsy Michigan Wedding: Alissa + Dan

bride and groom

Alissa + Dan put a lot of love and creativity into making their wedding beautiful + one-of-a-kind. Without worrying too much about selecting a specific theme or style, they decided to incorporate a fun mix of their favorite things, like retro knick knacks + woodsy elements (fruit, moss, fern and sod) to help give the day a personal and eclectic feel. Alissa is an artist + painter and she beautifully illustrated their invitation + all the signage, and her own original works of art decorated the reception venue. Such a lovely way to incorporate your talents into your day + make it extra special! Here’s a bit more from the newlyweds:

We really wanted to make this day about the two of us by adding touches of things that have inspired us throughout our relationship and engagement. We didn’t want the wedding to feel overdone, but instead we wanted to bring in the beauty of imperfection and love for eclectic simplicity in a unique way and just enjoy the time we would be spending with our closest friends and family.

Thanks so much to T & S Hughes Photography for the gorgeous photography and congrats to Alissa + Dan on a beautiful day!

And the first look location was extra special to Alissa + Dan; it was the spot where they first decided to start dating! So, so sweet! :)

One of the most memorable moments was slipping off into our own private space directly after the ceremony and just realizing that we were actually married! Spending those first few moments together as husband and wife alone was so special.

I seriously can’t get over how much I love the fun table decor. All of their hand-picked elements really came together perfectly to give the centerpieces a playful, whimsical vibe!

Our advice would be to enjoy the wedding day because it will fly by! Also, don't be afraid to delegate tasks to people that are qualified to pull them off. It will take a huge load off of your shoulders if you're able to get a good team together to help with the details.

Autumn Amber Wedding Inspiration

hanging lanterns

Today’s wedding inspiration, gorgeously photographed by Love by Serena, comes to us from a talented group of Maryland-based wedding artists! Inspired by the transitory beauty that is inherent to the fall season, Jessica from Jessica Adams Design wanted to produce a styled shoot that would embrace the vibrancy of the warm, seasonal colors and utilize the great backdrop nature is already providing this time of year. The team incorporated a lovely neutral palette of brown + amber hues in each vignette; from the tabletops, to the yarn lanterns, and even into the invitation suite. And as you’ll soon see, the styling elements, wardrobe selections + gorgeous florals all feel decidedly + authentically fall, too! So much prettiness for all of you fall brides-to-be to love!

I love this bouquet by Stacy Bowen Flowers, which complements the shoot’s neutral palette, but adds a touch of femininity with pretty pops of ivory + blush!

And I’m totally smitten with the bride’s cozy look – perfect inspiration for fall or winter brides-to-be! And that pretty fishtail braid by Alison Harper & Co is just so sweet!
