A Glam Washington DC Wedding: Courtney + Anderson

bride and groom

Courtney + Anderson were married at The Textile Museum in Washington DC. I love that their inspiration for their wedding was cocktail hour since they really wanted the entire night to have the excitement + movement of the cocktail hour of a wedding. So fun. :) To make sure their wedding was truly reflective of the two of them, they paid attention to their gut instincts when it came time to make most of the decisions. They also had incredible planners (the lovely ladies of Ritzy Bee Events!) that really got them and what they really wanted for their wedding. Big thanks to Kate Headley for the photos and sweet film of the day!

first look

There are so many! However, one of the most memorable was probably our "first look" before the wedding. We met up for the first time that day on a set of beautiful old, grand steps near our venue and just enjoyed the moment and having that time together before the more public ceremony.

Sequoia National Park

sequoia-wedding-01

Dream of an intimate wedding among the redwoods? Why not say I Do while surrounded by the beauty of Sequoia National Park in California. Sequoia (which is also the country’s first national park!) is a perfect venue for those planning a small-to-moderate size reception with stunning views for an unforgettable celebration. Wuksachi Lodge is the newest + most modern facility in Sequoia Park.  This modern lodge offers visitors sweeping views + a location surrounded by towering Sequoias….it makes for a gorgeous wedding location.

If you already have a wedding venue picked out, consider Sequoia National Park for your honeymoon….it would be an amazing destination for outdoor lovers. There are lots of activities for the winter (cross country skiing, snowshoeing and sledding) and the summer (hiking, fly fishing, cave tours and horseback riding to name a few). And remember, the park is also home to the world’s largest tree the General Sherman and the Tunnel Log which you can drove through! :)

A Sweet Proposal with Lots of Balloons

balloon proposal caught on video

I just love when I get emails from the groom! Today’s super sweet proposal was sent in by Patrick who planned a pretty amazing proposal for his girlfriend Kimberly (who turns out is a GWS reader! YAY!). After watching this sweet video, I just had to share it with you lovelies. Congrats to Patrick + Kimberly and big thanks to Nathan + Lori Puhr with Shutter Life Productions who created this film. Love the choice of music also which includes Generator ^ First Floor by Freelance Whalesand and Blindsided by Bon Iver. Oh, and grab a tissue, think you might need it! :)
