Real Wedding: Lucy + Aaron’s Colorado Ranch Wedding

This seems like the perfect wedding for this week – it took place near Aspen, CO on Crystal Farms Ranch, where they do natural shed antler furniture – so, that means no reindeer were hurt in the process! They wait until they fall off naturally :) Such a beautiful unique location with the woods and all the antler furniture – including an antler chandelier in the tent! Thanks to the talented Brion Hopkins who photographed the wedding and sent it my way.

Love the getaway truck with all the white balloons! Congrats again to Lucy + Aaron and be sure to check out more work from Brion on his blog.

Rainy Day Wedding Fun

We don’t get lots of rain here in southern California, so when photographer Aaron Shintaku found out we were going to have a week of rain two weeks ago, he had an idea for a fun session in the rain. Groomsmen wearing ponchos and bridesmaids in coats and galoshes – so unique and fun! He also enlisted the help of the fabulous Jesi Haack to be the stylist for this session and the talented Carissa from JL Designs to create some awesome bouquets. From Aaron, “Friday morning I woke up to cloudy skies, but no rain. Most people would be happy at this point. We on the other hand wanted rain. Finally half way through our shoot we got it. It was a pretty funny sight seeing me hiding under a pink umbrella trying to shoot without soaking my gear.”

So, no need to fear rain! :) Check out more from the session on Aaron’s Blog. Thanks for sending these my way Aaron!

More Winter Wedding Decorations

I hope everyone enjoyed the week of winter wedding inspirations! It was fun coming up with some new color palette options and sharing the work of some talented photographers. I know those of you on the east coast are prepping for some snow this weekend, so I’m sure there are plans to keep warm by the fireplace and maybe watching some holiday movies (Elf and Love Actually are my favs for this time of year). It’s unseasonably warm here in LA (75!) – feels like a tease before my trip to the east coast next week! Anyways, a few more favorites from around the web to inspire..

I love this rustic and warm color palette from Color Me Pretty on decor8.

And how fun to incorporate some of your own snow globe creations!

I think this would be the perfect favor to hand out – Hot Chocolate Spoons! Lots of fun flavors such as Walnut Bourbon Vanilla Brownie (via Simplesong).

And I think these guests below will need some of those spoons. This couple were married in a snowstorm this past year! What a unique (and cold!) ceremony! Photos by Grazier Photography.

And in case you missed any of these, some other favorite winter inspiration from the week:

• This winter wonderland dessert table from the Lollipop girls
Summer’s creative winter styling for gifts with sweaters seen on Style Me Pretty
A winter holiday soiree created by lots of talented ladies.

Happy weekend and keep warm!
